Do lightweight motorbike-style helmets exist, for ebikes?

Considering than some of us can cycle at near 50mph (not me, no chance!), it seems daft that there isn't an entire class of lightweight motorcycle-style helmets for ebikes. Do they exist? I used to have a motorbike. I'm jealous of motorbike riders. Research and development over many years has resulted in great products to protect Motorbike rider's noggins: reflective, windproof, bluetooth hands-free, heaters etc. They're much safer than these silly bike hats which don't protect the sides or front, usually let in rain and quite a lot of them don't even have reflective areas. Of course you could get a rainproof and reflective cover but overall, bike helmets seem pretty poor protection in a serious accident compared to motorbike helmets.

It'd be better to buy products like that, which adhere to UK/EU safety standards. Did you have to epoxy the visor onto the healmet? Or are there snap points on that one?

Aha! So that's what they're called! It's often about searching with the right words isn't it? I wonder why couriers deserve more side and front protection than other bike riders? I've got some epoxy somewhere...

I might! Trouble is, the Police may stop me far more because motorbike helmets are not commonly used by cyclists - my kit is legal but I'd just rather not be stopped all the time. I've ordered that helmet from China for now - it'll be relegated to eye protection when strimming and chopping wood (axe) if it's rubbish, while I look for the most lightweight motorbike helmet I can find, or epoxy a visor to a courier helmet.

I'm now really curious as to how often you've been stopped, where you're riding and why you've been stopped in the past.
I've never (yet, touch wood) had police show any interest in me on a bicycle or e-bike.

Not relevant, but silly story for New Year. Last time I was stopped by police was in a rental car. I'd just driven it less than a mile, and made some typical mistakes one does make in a different car (signalling with the windscreen wipers etc). Nothing serious though so I was surprised when I was flagged down. A red faced policeman came out of his car and said 'Terribly sorry sir, didn't mean to flag you down. It's a new car to me and I pressed the wrong button.'

They often ride much more dangerously than other cyclists.

Unlike drivers who are inside, they tend to get dirty, especially in wet and muddy weather.

And beware of weight - a heavy helmet when excercising may not be as comfy.

With a chin guard, since that's a likely collision point? How about carbon for max strength v weight:

that is what i have but these are not adjustable and recommended to get the next size up.

my old helmet was a M but the fox is a large and takes a bit of time to bed in the cheek pads.

I've never been stopped while on a bicyle or ebike, but I only got an ebike (kit) a few days ago. I was stopped once on a motorbike. I was young and thought I was fully legal with lights, licence, helmet and insurance ... but it was late night in Scotland and I had been zooming down steep mountain roads as fast as I possibly could - every time I used the brakes, the headlight would switch off, so I had to guess at the corners... I never ended up off the road. When I eventually got back to town, sudden blue lights appeared and I was booked for not having insurance, because it had run out at midnight and I was stopped at 12.04am. They wouldn't turn a blind eye. I think they're much more likely to book you if you look unusual, or it's late at night, or when they're bored and have nothing else to do.

trust me i have tried hard to get the police to chase me looking like a halo robot on crack they are never interested.

the main reason i spent the cash on that helmet is because if a car hits me going 30mph and im doing 30mph also my old helmet would have no chance might as well put a pot on my head out the cupboard.

i also got raided buy the police this year and one of the cid officers was more interested in my bike and where to get the dongles from i **** you not
