I'm no advocate for the present performance of the NHS - it is deplorable, but on reactions to tariffs, I was surprised and annoyed that Starmer seems to be taking the appeasement route when our steel exports were slapped with tariffs. If Britain is to avoid Trump’s tariffs, the NHS may have to pay the price
It was Jeremy Corbyn who – in a rare moment of prescience – revealed exactly how the health service would be ‘on the table’ during any trade deal with the US. Given the maelstrom over tariffs, will Keir Starmer be able to defend the NHS when he meets the new president, asks Sean O’Grady

And risk damaging our economy for something that will likely last 4 years tops ?The ONLY answer to this bullying behaviour is to punch back HARD. Starmer is demonstrating that he is a big pansy. The bullying will only get worse unless he hits back. He needs to tell the orange bully to Fk off.
He is a transactional person. He responds to push back. When American produce is affected, he will respond with an about face. That's my guess anyway. I don't think people like Trump have much respect for what Americans call, 'pussies'.And risk damaging our economy for something that will likely last 4 years tops ?
I initially thought the same as yourself. But Trump is a bully that holds all the cards.
