I know. tell me about it! i did tho go the interest free finance route so not too much in one go.I had a go on a bosch last week...it climbed ok but i dont like nexus 8 hub gears, plus the gears were awful to change and the flat speed was just dire. Was a nice looking and light ktm macina cross but it felt very underpowered.And i am in a place were there is nowhere to really go and try many bikes out...i have based my decision based on what has been mentioned within the forums in here.

Sorry, its a shame this didn't come up sooner. If you tried a Bosch with a Nexus hub, the Bosch system is detuned to work with Nexus hubs.

We also offer the Macina Cross with a standard derailleur 10speed gearing and disc brakes, and the full power Bosch Active or Performance drive systems and it doesn't even cost anymore.

No Pete did mention after i tried it i that i would be better with derailleurs, Pete was most helpful. My decision was massively influenced on battery capacity and torque. 400 watt was just not enough and would of almost certainly required an extra 400watt battery.

Already ordered new one today.the impulse 2 system with 70nm torque just appears to destroy Bosch.

Which bike have you gone for?

Hi Artisu, I have gone for the Kalkhoff Endeavour Impulse S10 XT. The battery is 17ah and with 70nm torque i cant find anything close to that with bosch at the mo.

Out of interest, what does the Kalkoff weigh?

I expect that it is somewhere obvious, but I can't find any mention of the bikes weight.
