I mostly just use the Sennheiser RS130 RF wireless headphones now, unless I'm making music, when only Sennheiser HD600 will do. I wear wireless pretty much constantly, listening to stuff while putting out the bins, washing up etc. etc. Easily replaceable AAA batteries, and they sound great compared to lithium batteried bluetooth.

Those would be thunderous farts.

Speakers on tvs are all crap, so I've got absolutely everything going through the mixing desk and to the Sennheiser transmitter, or I can switch to HD600, or use one or more sets of more proper speakers.

That rubbish would be completely blown away by a 5.1 amp connected to your Genelecs next to the TV, and another pair of Gauss as satellites plus a sub.

The source has to be 5.1, 7.1 etc. sent via optical, if that's the only output. You'll have to check the manual for the tv.

That soundbar will only provide fake surroundish sounding noises, I think. They're all pretty awful compared to the real thing.

@soundwave - do your dimmer switches produce an audible buzz, or induce RF interference? All the ones I've tried did, so I went with oodles of individually switched lights instead. Buzzing can buzz off.

Some big old CRTs had bigger better speakers. Better for gaming too - I've still got one massive Trinitron monitor, which I don't know what to do with... I'm no gamer, and reasonably colour correct LED monitors are cheaper now. Weighs a ton. I'll sell it on ebay in a few years.
