...and there's no end in sight to this unseasonable cold weather. General consensus of several forecast models suggest another cold summer. And it's all to blame on the jetstream which currently is way down over Africa.

Hope this helps.
April
At the current time, pressure is forecast to be higher than average across much of Europe so a good deal of the UK is expected to be drier than average with just the northwest wetter. Temperatures are widely expected to be close to, or warmer than the seasonal average.

That already looks to be wrong for at least the first week in April, and probably a bit longer than that. Their forecast of wetter than usual weather following could well be right, since there are increasing signs in that jet stream pattern that we could be in for another wet and miserable year. I'm getting concerned that the most recent years may be indicators of a fairly permanent change in our weather pattern, a miserable prospect for someone heading into the last decade or two of life! Time to change countries maybe?

Having just seen the latest weather charts and the constant stream of lows threatening to head for Portugal and Spain, I'd be a bit hesitant at the moment! They could easily eventually start to share in the downsides of this change if it becomes permanent.

With so many countries worldwide experiencing erratic weather in the last three or four years, few seem to be safe bet. Even normally mostly hot and dry Australia has been veering between disastrous floods and catastrophic fires in the same regions, with both costing lives.

Maybe a future as a troglodyte is the best bet, underground is at least consistent!

In that case i have a friend with a cave house for sale north east of granada lol

As for spains weather....sharing in the downsides of this change would actually improve their weather and their way of life overall, apart from disastrous flash flooding of course.

Head for the mountains. They say that the rain in Spain lies mainly in the plain.

I thought the rain in Spain goes mainly down the drain..............
Nope....unfortunately it NEVER goes down the drain.....they are permanently full of muck and s***.....it runs into peoples houses instead..........and way out in the campo along the roads it just kinda ....floods the roads.....before eventually finding a convenient few houses......please dont start me off on rain and drainage in spain lol  .....otherwise I might try heading for the Planet Grah, although I am actually from the Planet Zarg.....still, a change is as good as a rest as they say....... ;)

I'm fairly sure it might possibly be, and even a chance of it.
Anyway, I'm building a properly insulated workshop and carrying on insulating the rest of my house to a reasonable standard. Even if the winters were mild from now on, I'm starting to feel the cold more as I get older, so it's sensible to take some measure to alleviate that.
