His accent is fine, very understandable English.

What he doesn't understand is the purpose of the EU Commission. Its sole purpose is to work towards integration of all the member countries into a single country called Europe, opposing all attempts to do the opposite.

That is why it is silly of him to complain that the politicians are giving away Ireland's sovereignty, that is what is being required of them.

That is why the Commission appear to act like a Mafia consiglieri, that is a natural outcome when all 27 of them are working together, doing their job well. Which of necessity will upset all the little nationalists who want to keep their country separate.

The Irish made the same mistake that the British made, joining the EU solely for the money. From the very beginning of the Coal and Steel Federation, of the Common Market and the resultant European Union objective, they were always about Union of the member countries into a United States of Europe.

Our peoples were just too dumb, lazy and money greedy to see that, so they stupidly voted for something they didn't want.

Trump just tossed a few more balls into the air to divert media attention from talking about what he promised his voters he will deliver on day 1 because he can't deliver what he promised. He won't be able to force peace in Ukraine or peace in middle east or reduce inflation or close the southern border or deport 13 million illegal migrants or drill for more oil or replace ACA or impose tariffs or push digital currencies or ban vaccinations in schools. His second presidency will be even more chaotic than the first and he won't have anything to show for it.

The USA does have a share of the Arctic, they own Alaska which is generally considered to be Arctic. It has an arctic sea coastline and one third of the state of Alaska is north of the Arctic circle.

The reason why Trump (and the USA) want to possess is to complete their obsession with surrounding and penning in Russia due to their hatred of any left wing politics.

They first sealed Russia off from most of the EU by getting most of those countries into NATO. More recently they have tried to do the same on the south with Georgia and Ukraine by trying to persuade them into NATO. Now the target is sealing off the north.
