The NHS and Ambulance Service are unable to reach heat attack and stroke patients within 5 hours. I’m sure the correct course of action to address this situation is to cut taxes for billionaires. It’s the obvious solution, I don’t know why someone didn’t come up with a plan like this before.

Sunak has achieved the most.

Ma and Pa had a chemist shop which paid for his education.

He's now a billionaire.

More aspirin to wealth than aspiring to wealth.
.
his Pa is a GP, his Ma was a pharmacist. Both have well paid jobs but it still must have been a tough sacrifice to pay for Rishi's private education. Most of his wealth though seems to come from his very rich wife (m. 2009) and connections with the in-laws family. From 2010, he worked as a director of the investment firm Catamaran Ventures, owned by his father-in-law before becoming an MP in 2014.
His personal fortune is estimated at £200M.

Of course, read all that some while ago, and his time in hedge fund management. In respect of partners there's two sorts of smart, not getting married at all or marrying into lots of money.

None of it really matters since our propects are so poor. We are so deep in immense debt that we can no longer afford to service.

There's only two ways out of that.

First austerity, getting use to poverty and a harder life to get the economy in better order. George Osborne tried that, but the banking crisis and later pandemic costs ruined any chance of that working.

Second expansion, borrowing and investing massively in the hope of exporting our way out of trouble with Brexit and new trade agreements. Johnson tried that from late 2019, first with Javid as chancellor, then with Sunak. That had no hope, the fundamental premises of Brexit being so flawed.

So it's continuously downhill now, no matter who in this bunch. We'll all have to get used to ever worsening relative poverty on our way to becoming even more a lesser nation in every respect.

There is a possible solution, and I suspect some of our politicians have already realised it. A World War 3 and the way it will destroy the world's economies, completely resetting the order of nations, just as WW2 did.

But what a prospect?

we should mend the fences with our neighbours, the EU.
Mordaunt is being attacked for being too soft on the EU.
She said during the Hunt vs Johnson race that BJ was/is unfit for the PM job. He chucked her out of the MOD as soon as he was PM.

And what did she do between then and now? Stayed as a Tory MP.

Of course we need to make EU relations much, much better. And I think it is down to us to start doing so.

While I try not to engage in British Politicians personality bashing, My current hope is that Liz Truss gets the gig. She will single mindedly push through the NIP negation Bill, which will utter scupper any chances of a reconciliation of the DUP with any NI Party and totally alienate the EU. The result will be a two year hard shock to the UK Economy ,living standards reduce more and more. That will destroy the Tories platform for the next election ,and if Starmer doesn't do something outrageous, Labour gets in. Then the Tories dump Truss, and anyone tainted with Johnson and Frost are toxic. That gives Labour an opportunity to mend bridges with the EU.

I doubt she (Truss) will do well in the TV debates tonight (Ch4) and over the weekend (ITV). She has an unattractive voice, is slow in comprehension and not good with spontaneous quips. The TV shows will confirm what we already know, Sunak will come through top, followed by Mordaunt and Badenoch.

After Starmer's insistence there is no going back over Brexit etc it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Tories "back into EU ref 1"in their next manifesto. We all know only too well how shocking Tories have been but the one thing they do that Labour seem incapable of is sensing public opinion and offsetting policies to take benefit. You watch, in a year or so some Tory will rise to top offering a referendum on return to EU.. They do U turn so much better than Labour.

The right wingers voted for Braverman (27), Badenoch (49) and Truss (64). They will need to get Truss 56 more votes to beat Mordaunt.
I reckon Sunak's camp would rather face Mordaunt than Truss to avoid having the Mail on their back. So the logic is to lend some of their votes to Kemi Badenoch and or Tom Tugendhat in the early stages and to Mordaunt next Wednesday in the final round.

Why are the billionaire newspaper owners trashing Penny M at every opportunity? Does it mean she would be a good PM for working people?
