However the next crunch is so many shops opening tomorrow.
I think the next few weeks are going to be tricky, Israel seem to have done well but Chile who have vaccinated a greater percentage of their population than we have are back in trouble. I hope the experts will not be bullied by the libertarian wing of the Tori party into opening everything up too quickly.

Yes, the low figures recently are especially encouraging given that temperatures in March and April so far have been below average.

However the next crunch is so many shops opening tomorrow. They'll be hoping there will be large numbers of customers flocking back into them. Personally I've got my doubts since I think people have got so used to not having them they probably won't rush back, with only the essential services like hairdressing doing well.
.
Not sure Flecc, my wife has it all planned out. Market, town, Meadow Hall, the lot.. I, ll be in garage and emptying car on her return of all the essential junk destined for car boot in a couple of weeks time. I don't get it. I go shopping to get stuff I want. Wife goes shopping as entertainment.
We used to have a dog that ate like wife shops. He, d eat everything and anything then throw up what he didn't want.

How can something be over that never existed in first place?
I forecast that the authorities would mess up the second jabs and they have.

The total number of over 80s and essential workers is according to government 5.2 millions.

The number of people who have had the second jab is now 7.4 million, 2.2 millions above that, yet around here those of us in our late 80s are still waiting without a sign of an appointment, let alone the second jab. Obviously they are once again randomly going on to those in younger age groups.

Phoning special numbers is no good since they offer very distant locations to get the jab, so I'll just wait until they condescend to give me an appointment at my local health centre.
.
If you lived on South Uist ,I could understand a delay, but since you are in London , inexplicable.

I’ve just happened to come across the BAFTA awards on the TV. It’s given me an idea. Why don’t they give a BAFTA to every black person? It doesn’t matter whether they are involved in film or television, just give them a BAFTA. It will solve a lot of problems.

This will also serve as a guide. If you see something that says BAFTA winning, you’ll no to avoid it because it’s going to be shite.

Agreed. It's in part why I've resolutely stayed single.

I don't need any help to spend money since it's so easy to do.

Still remember a young friend who was getting married and with his wife-to-be were accumulating things they'd need, supposedly buying carefully due to lack of money. She bought an ironing board, then decided another she saw was better so bought that as well. Apparently found it was wobbly so bought a third one. I still remember his expression as he was complaining "How could she buy three effing ironing boards".

That wouldn't be a BAFTA, it would be a BAFFA,

Black Award For Feck All.

On the subject of money wasted, my pal's wife , after her second child asked him to pay for her to have the op to prevent further unwanted pregnancies.
This made him complain of the cost at the time, but he cheered up when she upped sticks and went off with local Police inspector.
I remember him smiling when I repeated the old wise words
"The best way of punishing a man who steals your wife
is to let him keep her"

Odd wording: antibodies able to control emerging variants should be developed.

Is anyone developing antibodies as a treatment? (Yes, I know the use of the blood from those previously infected. But the words do not read as if they refer to that.)

Cameron:

“However, I have reflected on this at length. There are important lessons to be learned. As a former prime minister, I accept that communications with government need to be done through only the most formal of channels, so there can be no room for misinterpretation.”

Just how can it require reflection at length? How can there be lessons to be learned? It is pellucid and any lessons are ones that should have been learned at kindergarten.

MABs (monoclonal antibodies) - some have been approved.
