Is that why we jumped in first so we could get the vaccine first and deny it to others?
How was that helping others?
Was it hell as like it was a desperate act by a government panicking not so much about the 120,000 dead as salvaging it's own deservedly tattered reputation
Even Cummings described them as a disaster zone, than managed to make it worse.
Do you imagine for a moment that after the arrogance and lying this government has been committing internationally, anyone other nations doesn't see that act as utterly negating our promises of helping others?
So we aren't blocking export of vaccines for political reasons?
First we don't export any
Second other nations are aware we are embargoing export of 100 Covid treatment related Drugs and have been for some time.
And trying (far too late as everyone is aware of it) to avoid mentioning that fact.
No one outside this country has any reason to trust anything we say, and we have our government, particularly the Blond Wurzel Gummidge tribute act in charge.
You were quite happy to accept your vaccine that was secured for you by jumping in first. What were you expecting? The U.K. should have stood to one side and said, “after you”?

Rank hypocrisy isn’t strong enough to describe your attitude.

Perhaps you could offer an explanation for all their behaviours. EU, France, Merkel, Macron, Von Leyen???
I agree their motives are unclear but their actions and comments certainly aren't.
It could be that they reserve the right not to get our permission before taking a stance?
After all it really isn't our business any more, but hey what a wonderful way to divert UK public attention away from suppressive Police state laws, corruption, breaking international law, an immense casualty list through incompetence, worst financial situation ever.
All you have to do is set the Media on them..

Woosh a few corrections.. AZ promised and committed to 100% in the EU. ,with due dates etc last August. They then admitted in January that they could at best deliver 40% and with revised delivery dates, Then subsequently have failed to deliver and if they are hitting 30% of schedule its a good week. At present EU average is about 90% Pfizer and 10% AZ.. For various reasons , Ireland having a younger healthcare workforce was running at a higher AZ percentage. 130k/480k . 95% of AZ vaccine is used within a week of its arrival in Ireland.
They said “best effort” as they did to the U.K.

The U.K. are using the Oxford vaccine. Not pi$$ing away time on political spite.

Now France is reporting 20% confidence to take up the Oxford vaccine. What’s the point of supplying them?

Will you never stop lying like this? I didn't jump first, how could I?
All of my comments are intended to ask for sensible treatment for everyone, even idiots who voted this disaster of a government into power and helped kill tens of thousands more than necessary
Try not to act like a child with responses like that
Frankly it's pathetic, your defence of your glorious leader is too. :D

Are you insane? They have 15 million doses of vaccine they won’t use despite the EMA and WHO telling them it’s safe and effective. How can you possibly say there is a supply problem?
Where is this figure of 15 M coming from?. The EU concluded a deal with AZ for 400M at a phased delivery over the 8 months until August 2021. Deliveries were expected commencing End of January ..and we know how that went. The cupboard was bare , So your source please.

Does it include Pfizer stock? Quote the link if you can.
their population: 512,596,403
15M / 512M = 3%
At the beginning of the vaccination, we have stock of 20+ million doses for 65 million people.
Compare the two.
Math or Maths is not his bag... At least Z taught the stuff

Hang on a minute, why have you connected the two?
You really don't like the truth do you?
Your beloved leader wanted it for the reasons I posted not out of any sense of responsibility to the public
And why should I refuse to take the advice of a hypocrite like you that voted Boris into power and Brexit too?

How do you get hold of the vaccine without ordering it? You are criticising for ordering early.

If it wasn’t ordered early, it wouldn’t have been available to you.

You are being a twat. Stop it.

Hmmm... BBC reports:

Election watchdog quizzes Tory party over funding of PM's flat makeover

Difficult to square £60,000 on refurb with charitable status. In my simplistic opinion.

You should be thanking us OG. We could so easily have been in same state as Paris and France.
And, I don't think it right to politicise this issue. Its actually bigger than politics. We are at war.. I thought against Covid but it seems the EU..???
The blame or credit lies firmly with NHS, JCVI, Mhra and Sage. I dont give credit to Johnson for the good parts but likewise don't blame him for the bad. He is a politician. They are all sh! te,more so the foreign ones.

The hypocrisy is not in accepting a cooked meal, already prepared, . The hypocrisy is in snaffling all the beef patties in the supermarket for your restaurant , and then complaining that they are off the menu when you visit another restaurant. The problem with the vaccines is that there is a limited production capacity, and while some countries snaffled them up, others have meagre amounts.
The EU has to date subsided the UKs vaccination program by supplying material. It has also vaccinated or jabbed twice as many of its citizens, despite the minor contribution from AZ. It would have vaccinated more, and more fully had AZ delivered.
The hypocrisy is yours in choosing to ignore these facts.

The EU’s vaccination rate per 1000 people is pathetic. Of course they have vaccinated more people you ******* twat, there are more of them. What a ****.

There is very little or zero confidence in the Oxford vaccine, it’s pointless sending it to the EU now.

France hasn’t even started vaccination of over 70s yet, Italy similar. Have you had yours yet?

Don’t even try and suggest the EU is ahead of the U.K. It just makes you look a bigger fool, if that is possible.

Source of the 15M..unused doses . And Woosh of course you are correct, it includes Everything . Including any Pfizer and Moderna which is contracted to hold the second dose in storage until adminstered...

BMJ 2021; 372 doi: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.n730 (Published 16 March.
Unused vaccines
The pace of the EU’s rollout contrasts highly unfavourably with progress in the UK. This has prompted arguments over vaccine exports and the responsibilities of manufacturers, adding to the existing Brexit tension between Brussels and London.
Figures released on 15 March by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control showed that just over 15 million vaccines doses were currently unused. The 27 EU countries (minus Malta) plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway have received 62.2 million vaccine doses but have administered only 46.8 million.
Overall, 9% of people over 18 have received their first dose. But, while countries such as Denmark, Greece, Lithuania, and Poland had used almost all of their deliveries, France and Germany had administered just over two thirds of theirs and Luxembourg only 58%.
Despite criticism of the EU’s vaccine procurement scheme only three countries have broken away to buy doses from other sources. Hungary’s national regulators granted a licence to Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine for emergency use, as countries can do under European Medicine Agency rules. By 7 March this represented 7.2% of all doses administered in the country. Czechia and Slovakia have since followed Hungary’s lead.

1. Since the UK never sent any AZ to the EU , stopping shipments would be very easy. Any AZ used in Europe was EU produced
2. There is an enthusiasm for the AZ and Pfizer here in Ireland.
3. The schedule for last week was for the medically vulnerable 16 + s to get the AZ , and that was halted, but has probably started today..I expect my son to contact me. We will then again be out of our allocation of AZ.
4. I become eligible in a weeks time for the over 70s allocations .. probably Pfizer.
And as is your practice, you ignore the facts and attack the person.
5. Of course the fraction of population partially vaccinated in the EU is smaller, even with double the rate ..its called Math. That was the point. The vaccine is not software it cannot be replicated and distributed exponentially,it must be constructed atom by atom. The UK snaffled the supply, the EU decided to share

Vaccine delivery to the EU:

AZ has supplied fewer than 12 million shots to the EU. [9-March]
I can't see where the citation of 15 million doses in the cupboard come from.

QUOTE:
To be sure, AstraZeneca has certainly under-delivered to the EU. The company planned to provide between 80 million and 100 million doses by the end of March, but in January, it drastically reduced the total to 40 million, citing manufacturing issues. Since then, the company has struggled to meet even that goal, and has supplied fewer than 12 million shots to the EU.

Now France is reporting 20% confidence to take up the Oxford vaccine. What’s the point of supplying them?.. well since they only have a 10% chance of getting it, that is good news all around. Less disappointed people.
