What exactly do you want? Would you rather the study had found that one dose was completely ineffective? The simple truth is, the government got the vaccine rollout right and it sticks in your craw. You can’t handle it.
Wrong as usual but then you usually are being determined to cover for the Government you voted for
The Government hasn't got the vaccine rollout right till it is completed, not half done
All credit to the people on the ground none to the incompetents who mishandled the campaign.
The planning at each stage has been too little and too late, and now they are looking at any get out they can get .
Any day now there will be a convenient revelation that you don't need the second dose of either vaccine.
And a declaration of World beating performance by the usual suspects

I know OG, I was being flippent. Water purification over years has probably accounted for more saved lives than any other single development.
You are being a bit cynical beyond your engineering prowess tho OG.
You might use a valve or tap that you tested to 10 bar... Some user says hang on a minute we use it to 50 bar??? Neither are wrong. Manufacturer has to guarantee it, goes bust if one fails.. (if one fails manufacturer won't sell any)
Wheel bearings in cars, life expectancy 100k or 5 years? Saw bearings in Sierras that must have done 500k and still like new.
Actual usage is always different to manufacturer guidance. It's to do with comeback and deniability.
Exactly same with vaccine.
Perhaps it is pertinent to point your attention at a sentence in your comment
"Manufacturer has to guarantee it, goes bust if one fails.. "
Unless of course you excuse them any liability and pay over the odds for the product "Sold as seen"
Sound familiar?

No so, actually it matters a great deal ever change to design alters the flushing performance and can even lead to massive problems with the drains, so don't make assumption is like that ,and where potable water supply fittings are concerned unless great care is taken with design to prevent back siphonage large numbers of people have been poisoned in the past
Shame no-one developed an anti-wet wipe, nappy (etc.) WC which refused to flush if there was one in the bowl.

This is because of yet another gigantic "fat berg" story. The water companies want praise for their effort in removing these things. But I argue they should enhance monitoring so they are never allowed to grow so huge. It should never get to the stage of threatening properties being flooded.

OG, what do you want me to say? The new data is all wrong, the delay between doses ruins the effect of vaccine, the Pfizer must be stored at minus 30 degrees (or whatever)?
I could easily agree with you, then we, d both be wrong.
The fact is latest data suggests AZ vaccine has shown (has shown) very high efficy rates in single dose at 6 weeks plus..
And that in reality Pfizer vaccine can be stored a little warmer than thought.
????
Do you really want us to believe its all lies? If so which are the lies that aren't lies or is that a lie too. Once you start down road of misbelieving everything, what do you believe? Nothing.
Canadians lying now.

Give up on this one OG.

Yes it's called intelligence, something you apparently don't suffer from.
There's an old saying and very true when something looks too good to be true it usually is.
If I had made such a fundamental error of specifying superdeep cold storage and then had to go back to my MD and said but if you want to, you only need a fridge.
The reaction I got would have been to be escorted to the gate by the security and told not to come back
If you can go 6 months to the Oxford vaccine second jab you obviously don't need it because the new vaccine will be along by then.
With respect, in the vaccine, we are talking about a new and complex scientific product, not a toilet. I understand that engineering principles in product design and manufacture apply to your industry, but it’s nothing like vaccine design, manufacture and storage.

The basis of the problem is the reduction of flush volumes progressively from high level 11 and 13 litre cisterns down now to 3.5 litre close coupled suites, which struggle to clear the bowl, and lead to very low rates of flow in the sewers.
The only available answer at this time is for the authorities to specify macerators on the outgo of the pans to liquidise the waste, and to introduce automatic jetting in areas of the sewers known to have a tendency to block.
When Canary Wharf was under construction I visited there regularly as the installation on all floors was shall we say problematical and far too restricted at the basement and sewer levels.
This was pointed out and noted..
There is of course a noise problem with the present macerator designs, but I had seen some more modern and quieter designs on the board.

Shame it hasn't reached Tory Voters yet and it looks like they are incapable of learning , as you demonstrate with your pitch of trying to make a "Silk purse out of a Sow's ear." :D

Agreed, but there is just as big an opportunity for incompetence, have you forgotten they actually injected a huge number of subjects thinking they were giving them a full dose and it turned out to be only half of one?

Only if there are remaining high-risk people who need some protection.

On the basis most countries appear to recognise risk level as a factor in assigning vaccine (though with much argument about what constitutes that risk), the argument you are doing high-risk people out of vaccination by providing the second is questionable.

Indeed, we are doing high-risk people out of the extra protection of a second dose.

The extra 2% protection (according to Canadian interpretation of Israeli data) to afford 90% protection for other at risk groups. Sounds like a beneficial trade off to me.
But we have same situation, where a poster on a pedelec forum has more insight into both the initial trial data and now the working data from actual cases than anyone at JCVI or PHE...??? If what you and OG believe is true why aren't JCVI/PHE (and Canadian medical teams) doing what you suggest? What does Oyster know that Chris Witty, JVT, Spephen Powys etc etc etc don't.
Its amazing. The faith you people have in your own abilities. You really should be doing more than posting on an electric bike forum. Running PHE perhaps?
My opinion is that the. Vaccine programme has been exceptional and probably the only thing they have got absolutely as right as possible. Yes, inevitable problems with logistics but in under a year we have gone from no vaccine to approaching 17 million vaccinated. It's actually astonishing. Said it before, the govt, PHE, AZ, Pfizer, NHS and every single person involved deserve praise and encouragement. Brilliant job being done. Thanks to them all.

I could spend as much time on it as Boris does running the country, if that's OK :D

it's not so much what they know more than us, it's more a case of what they choose to tell (and not to tell) the public.
At least we are not partisan on covid.
