The only ignorance on here originates from sad amateur commentators who mistakenly believe they know better than the world’s leading experts. Step back from the canvas and look at the whole picture. You will see silly people on here genuinely believe they’ve spotted flaws & errors in vaccine development and testing. It’s preposterous.
You really are being very silly.

None of us in here has spotted flaws and errors in vaccine development and testing and wouldn't pretend to.

We have spotted some flaws and errors that the experts have reported and have informed ourselves accordingly and commented on them.

Being watchful like that is very sensible, given this is the country that accepted contaminated blood that gave thousands Hepatitis C, killing many of them. And the country that created BSE which killed many more. The country that created Thalidomide. The country that thought pre-frontal leucotomy (lobotomy) was a legitimate medical treatment and the country that thought electric shock treatment was a cure for homosexuality and chemical castration a legitimate way of deterring homosexuality.

Many of those in charge today are no better than those who perpetrated those crimes against our people.

We’ve strayed to a point where you are suggesting that the Oxford professors who developed a vaccine against Coronavirus (They are saying that it’s safe & effective) being no better than men who electrocuted homosexuals in an effort to cure them.

Now who’s being silly?

Perhaps you should learn to read. The decisions are made by politicians, not professors.

You have no evidence that short cuts or dangerous practices were adopted with the Oxford vaccine’s development.

Your words could tip the balance someone who is vaccine hesitant.
nobody said anything about shortcuts or dangerous practices.
Before the AZ vaccine, no other vaccine made with the same technology was approved.
Even now, the AZ is approved for emergency use only.
There is a lot we don't know. On the face of it, a couple of people died during the trials but not necessarily related to the vaccine.
Give it some time to yield some proper result.
In the mean time, stop being so sensitive to any criticism of our government.
Being vigilant is not against the tories.

I did read that post at the time and I’ve passed it to the TMO. They’ve come back to me. Upon reflection, you’re now on a Yellow, not a Red. You’ve dodged a bullet, but it will be Red next time.
Excuse me . Not sufficient, because of my nationality I demand a Green Card. Yellow is very close to Orange . There will be consequences otherwise.

I’ve just heard a guy on a radio phone in saying he is experiencing the same phenomenon as my Italian nephew. The chap keeps testing positive for Covid, weeks after his initial positive test. He feels fully recovered, but can’t return to his job.
Well we got the answer on the ITV program I recommended.

The PCR test cannot differentiate between the live virus and the dead particles left behind long after being infected. Both record a positive.

Your nephew will have to wait until he has finally lost the dead particles before recording a negative PCR test.

Clearly as said before we really need a better test, not only because the PCR test records so many false positives long after infection but because it also misses many infections.

I missed Bob Ross so that I could watch it. Seems like the tests are rubbish. Eye watering cost.

All of those containers full of PPE too!

A concerning story about children:

Up to 100 UK children a week hospitalised with rare post-Covid disease
Exclusive: 75% of children worst affected by paediatric inflammatory multi-system syndrome are BAME
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/feb/05/up-to-100-uk-children-a-week-hospitalised-with-rare-post-covid-disease

The last paragraph is towards the patronising end of the scale:

“It remains rare, and we don’t think parents should worry, as it is far more likely not to affect their child than to affect them. The numbers are low and [PIMS] would not be a reason to keep schools from opening. The median age [of onset] is nine years. We would not close playgrounds.”

We really do have to worry about things that are more likely to not affect us/our families than to affect them. We are worrying plenty about Covid-19 itself despite being more likely to not die, not go into hospital, possibly even now know we even have it.

And getting back on thread, BJ again and in the HoC threatened yesterday to derail the Northern Ireland Protocol.. This is serious ,
For the last 3 weeks people have been wandering around the Port of Larne and Belfast ,and recording car registration numbers . Then checking where in the East Belfast enclaves these cars were to be found, and then of course the graffiti appears on the walls adjacent . It would say Quisling ..if they could spell , but Tout is a preferred shortcut. Next would be the bricks , if the guys resisted. But of course they don't, and inspections have ceased . The Port authorities citing Health and Safety can no longer ensure safety of employees . The DUP as the lead party in Government have a duty to ensure that the law of the land is carried out , but as a political party have a public policy of wishing the NI Protocols to fail.

Temperature is also rising a little with groups of masked and hooded men congregating in certain areas ... And no not surgical masks.
This is one of the reasons I was perturbed by last Friday's kerfuffle.
I did comment on this a couple of years ago when the EU mention border controls between the north and the south....something about them being bullet and petrol bomb
proof.

Or more likely just the convenience of being able to give anything as the second dose.
.
What I find strange is that by now working on the basis of the Israeli experience, there should be some deaths among people who have had the initial shots of the vaccine.
None reported so far..........

From midnight Saturday night, not one single time slot in prospect on our forecast has a "feels like" temperature above zero.

And it's a cold, and it's a cold, it's a cold, and it's a cold
It's a cold wind's a-gonna blow

First and foremost hopefully they'll test it doesn't have any adverse effects - at least on a handful of patients first.

meanwhile from the Independant Socialist Republic of Hull:

Switzerland has refused to approve the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid vaccine for use in the country.

It is the latest country to have concerns over the effectiveness of the vaccine in over 65's - after similar worries in France, Germany and Austria.

Dr Bolte said the precise details of their concerns were confidential but added: “What I can say is that yes, it pertains to different age groups, over-65s and over-55s as well.

“It pertains to comorbidities, pre-existing conditions like asthma, hypertension, diabetes.
Now that is a worlds first, if you told anybody from Hull that the Hull Daily Mail was "socialist" these words would immediately spring to mind
"You're a bloody foreigner to think that!"

Not quite.

Two people died during the AZ trials, not necessarily due to the vaccine but comparing with the Israeli experience, given the relatively small scale of the AZ trials.

As Woosh and I have remarked, the AZ is still only approved for emergency use. The current widespread use we've started will effectively become the larger scale trial eventually, basically us following the Israelis widespread application anyway.
