I guess that would be the story of a poor isolated nation with high unemployment and some fish. They would suddenly strike a great trade deal with a massive trading block right on their doorstep. As a result, the poor nation became progressively more wealthy and enjoyed a greater standing in the world.

No, it will never catch on.
Ok .. then we in Ireland are living the dream!

This shows the start of the variant fermenting in Kent and SE Region from 27th Nov.

We must be getting close to a very dangerous increase of anger in the public by now, we just have to hope it doesn't get to reach a critical mass level

BJ should cancel Christmas for all or change the rules for Christmas.
Cancelling Christmas in only tier 4 is not a good decision.
In a week, the new variant will be all over the UK.
Just look at how Covid D614G spread in the summer. The new variant is even twice as infective as D614G.

Especially if people, such as I referred to yesterday, decide that the rules don't apply to them. They will go somewhere for a holiday (not to meet up with relatives or anything) from a tier 3 area (now 4). Despite it being against Wales and England rules (and laws). Just because they fancy it.

Twist everything to claim they will keep away from other people. Completely ignoring everything from using services, getting food (somehow), etc., which would potentially expose others to them/them to others.

Despite being informed that earlier in the year, the police have been stopping, fining and turning back people.

I know they have been ignoring rules all year.

The whole issue has, as so many others, been mishandled.

Transport lorries having to pass through epicentre of the new variant in Kent on the way via ports onto ferries to the continent could be a vector to spread it overseas.

It’s not the actual lockdown that angers people. It’s because they frequently get things terribly wrong and then insist they get everything right whilst bizarrely doing a lap of honour. It’s also lack of leadership, people need clear decisive advice backed by impeccable behaviour from those issuing the advice. Lack of transparency and cronyism fan the flames of anger even more.

This government’s performance is like one of those 1970s John Cleese management training films. The ones where he did everything wrong in an over exaggerated fashion to highlight how not to behave. The trouble is these clowns are too stupid to know they are getting it wrong.

It‘s inevitable that it will spread throughout the U.K. People will leave T4 areas to have the Christmas THEY want in T1, T2 & T3 areas. January is going to be carnage.

Everywhere should have gone to T4 to give us a chance to get more people vaccinated. He’s screwed up trying to fix his initial screw up.

Covid 19, cameras and motorbikes all in this video. First hand account from someone who caught the virus recently, he explains how he thinks he caught it, and what the experience was like for him and his wife.

For the circumstances, the sound and video quality were excellent!

BJ keeps making the same mistakes.
He must have known by now that the tier system is not strong enough to reduce hospitalisation and the hospitals are now full.

Of all the newspaper headlines I have scan read this morning, only the Observer seems to say it as I see things:

Johnson U-turn leaves nation's plans for Christmas in tatters

All the rest go down the "cancel Christmas" route. Christmas will still happen, folks! As will New Year. It is the U-turn that is so damaging in so many ways.

He has an allergy to tough decisions. He’s only capable of acting the fool in a high-viz jacket and waving a Union Jack on a lollipop stick. Anything more taxing and he’s totally out of his depth.

His team are second rate too. Actually, that’s a bit unfair on second rate people.
