There are many cases of names being used for different things. Kraken is also the name of a mythical beast, like a giant octupus type creature. It's also a Bitcoin exchange and a type of Rum. For your homework, see how many other meanings you can find that it has, then, after that, try searching for the meanings of another word, say crown. That should give you an idea of how it all works with meanings.
