It's a lucky thing conservatives in this country arent xenophobic. God knows, that could have made for something like brexit. Nudge nudge. Seriously, with our sordid colonial history of slavery and exploitation, and the fact that Hitler's decision to invade russia stopped us from becoming his next bunch of eunuchs (as I recall king George sympathised with him) we really dont have even a tiny soap box to get onto when it comes to national shame. At least the French hasn't recently produced a flatulent boris shaped fuckwit that floats international law
The French are doing it as we type messages to each other, but not a word of condemnation.

France have a strategy designed and calculated not to process refugee/ asylum claims.
France or UK or any country cannot force people to claim asylum.
If you happen to be at sea and see a few migrants without life jackets on their rubber dinghy, would you:
1. ask for their passport
2. ask if they need help

Nice try, but they, “don’t just happen” to find them at sea. The French authorities have been filmed escorting the inflatable boats from the shoreline and staying with them until they reach British waters. They clear off once that objective has been completed.

If the French were anything like a decent and honourable nation, they would abide by international law, prevent people risking their lives by attempting the crossing and process the people in the first safe nation they arrived in, ie France. But they won’t and they don’t, so let’s hear some condemnation and see some action.

Has anyone seen Dildo Harding during this period of shambles regarding Coronavirus testing? You know the head of Testing & Tracing? Is she in hiding with Lord Cunty McCuntwhistle, the head of PEE? Where has he gone?

I’m still trying to work out why the government appointed a horse jockey to take charge of testing and tracing during a pandemic. Perhaps Lester Piggott is busy developing the vaccine and can’t spare the time.

No, under the agreement they should be processed in France, not sneaked out to sea and dumped like refuse and left to wash up in the shores of another country. This is precisely what the French are doing. You will never accept this because like many on here your DNA is programmed to criticise the U.K. (and there is plenty of material) but to excuse similar behaviour by other nations.
Down to comments on DNA being different for the French?
Explain how that doesn't qualify as a racist remark, and it's ridiculous too, when half of the UK population has partially French genes

I really don't understand why you are having so many problems with the government you voted into power

The French did produce such persons, but even his right wing daughter effectively disowned him.
I do suspect that the UK and the British Empire would have in the long run have beaten the Germans in WW2 . ..Even if the Russians had not been attacked. However had the Russians become the allies of Germany .. probably not. The immensity of the British Empire in 1941 meant it had the resources and the raw materials and manpower . Germany and Italy did not.

The UK also had the demands of such a large empire. Such as Singapore. Which we lost when attacked.

I think you won't see UK complaining to France about people crossing the Channel because UK authorities know that France is not obliged to stop immigrants doing so. What UK authorities can do and indeed do, is to pay French police to do the work for them.
Same with fencing the Channel Tunnel.
The first safe country for them is usually Greece, Italy and Spain, not France. Immigrants can apply for any countries in the Schengen area.

You usually get your facts right - except on this subject.

Yes. But the Empire still had the greatest fleet. I am not saying it would have been easy, and remember Japan joining hostilities was linked to the Americans.

Not disputing any of this . That is how it panned out of course. Had Russia stayed out ..both of Poland initially and then against Germany, after being attacked, then Poland might very well have blunted German expansion. They were incapable of a two pronged attack, but from Germany alone,it would have been different

The Germans had a secret weapon, Wernher von braun. A missile capable of reaching the US mainland was already being designed by him and would have sorted WWII out in an instant.
The US nabbed him at the first opportunity and with his help went on to build a spacecraft capable of reaching the moon, crossing the Atlantic would have been a piece of cake for Von braun.

What's with this sudden bout of patriotism? The last time I checked it took most of the great empire fleet (and considerable luck)to subdue the bismarck
