How do you score on the Departure Lounge invitation scale?
My score is 2 points, do I win an Easter Egg?

Is that chart real? There is a lot of crap and fake information being circulated , and I doubt the NHS has it’s very own Dr Josef Mengele.

I think there is enough ICU infrastructure at the moment, it’s staff levels which concerns me. They are burning out and getting sick / frightened due to lack of PPE. They are also very angry about MPs giving themselves a £10000 bonus to work from home after they have failed so miserably to protect NHS staff. The £10K is another story buried & sideliNed.

Someone on Twitter has started a Telegraph bloomers scrap book

Downplaying section

Euro Bashing

Culture wars

Jingoism

They are giving the Mail and Express a run for their money!
The lockdown, which is in place to protect all of us is going to be lifted far too early. It’s costing wealthy people who can buy social distancing anyway, too much money from lost business revenue.

There is a change of language taking place. It was very subtle about 10 days ago, but it’s really gathering pace and is more overt now. Handcock is also gently starting to shift the blame for the death toll onto the public. He is starting to hint that it’s a reckless disobedient minority that is spreading the disease. It’s working too, the Mail is full of it and it’s readers have invented a new name for these scapegoats, Covidiots. This will form the basis for the lockdown exit strategy. Plebs will be ordered back to work with the ludicrous instruction to social distance in the workplace. They won’t social distance because it’s impossible to do so in many jobs, and they will be blamed for the subsequent explosion in cases and death toll during the second wave.

And that, more or less, is what I suspect to be, the lockdown exit strategy.

not just Handcock, they all do that at CV daily briefings.
the ministers already shift the blame on to their scientific advisers and those whose gardens are not big enough to exercise in.

“We are being guided by the science” has been around since day 1. I have been thinking that’s the escape route when the smelly stuff hits, all along.

The failure to provide PPE has found a new scapegoat too. It’s “Chinese Red Tape” hindering deliveries.

Somewhere I recall hearing that we have stockpiled vast quantities of red tape in case of a no deal Brexit.
Why not send some to Beijing to speed up deliveries?
After all it's the only thing we have more than we will ever have need of.

How to play down bad news

April 13th 2020 AM
BBC: Death toll now exceeds 10, 000

Reality Death toll reaches in excess of 10, 600 and lord knows how many thousands at home and in care homes

My old friend who lives in a local village that overlooks the city said only one column of black smoke over Hull just before sunset

Using Google maps, identified it as the Crematorium
They don't do funerals at that time.

The actual cremation doesn’t always happen at the time of the service. I guess the cremations your friend saw were from earlier services.

Is Brexit now dead?

It’s very likely that the two nurses that cared for Boris Johnson and who he has heaped so much praise onto, would not be allowed into the country under the Brexit immigration rules.

Can we possibly stick to the Brexit timetable with the whole of Europe stricken with Coronavirus?

Do people now have a different Brexit outlook with their Coronavirus goggles on?

Can anyone think of a source of plastic sheets (somewhere around A4 size would be ideal), like file dividers?

Needs to be slightly thicker than the thinnest ones you can buy.

Need a) to be open as a real shop; b) to have a branch in my area!

I'm wondering if I am missing somewhere (e.g. Screwfix) but my brain has given up.

This is to make some facemask "hold it on" devices for local hospital, etc.

No, quite frankly that would require them to suddenly acquire intelligence, a process even slower that PPE deliveries to where they are needed
