We have our property owned under tennants in common. It has lots of benefits, one being it stops council using your home to pay for care. Might be worth looking into OG. Dont trust any financial advisers. And dont do any release equity sh! te. They are proper scammers
Good luck. Go speak with your bank manager. They are normally OK..

have no idea what you are talking about.
Eggsistentialism:

A philosophy that emphasizes individual existence, freedom and choice. It is the view that humans define their own meaning in life, and try to make rational decisions despite existing in an irrational universe.

I'm on the lookout for a hostess off her trolley but with a nest egg
That reminds me of a notice in Seahouses a fishing community in Northumberland

This is a copy from the USA, so perhaps you could place an advert something along those lines?

I’m on the lookout for a nest of tables and a hostess trolley. Give me a shout if anyone asks you to list anything in the Shitsville Trader. Cheers.

Just watching Swindon. Awful. Really bad. Dreadful. She sounds like a horse trapped in a hay baler machine.

As Prime Minister, I will be an honest broker and not campaign for either side in the final say referendum. We will negotiate a good deal, put that to the people alongside remain and then implement your decision.

Hmm!

I think Johnson came out on top there. Swindon was so awful she has caused me to fall in love with Nicola.

Really?

Wow. That's just amazing you think that.

Because you are impartial in all things Conservative you must correct!

Johnson must have been on fire as you usually give him such a hard time with your tongue.

I saw the last 6 mins and saw a massive liar, a deflector and an incompetent.

He was an abject failure as mayor. An embarrassment as Foreign Minister, a cun* of a dad, a tosspot of a husband and an abusive boyfriend.

He is so lacking in leadership skills he makes yearn for Swinson

Exactly, every word true and far better than anything else on offer this evening.

Dementia cure: Huge boost as campaign to end illness gets £16BILLION
BRITAIN will spearhead the hunt for a dementia cure by doubling the funding for cutting edge research. Health Secretary Matt Hancock reveals the £1.6billion spending pledge in an exclusive interview with the Daily Express today.

Strewth! 16 reduced to 1.6 ?
And how many of us will be dead before they begin to fulfill even the lower figure?

I just want to make a point about Boris and his new found passion to cancel the law on fleecing the elderly for their care by accessing their assets.
Remember that they promised to put an end to that in the 2015 Manifesto

Anyway I am facing that threat in all probabiity and received a cold call from a company that said the could offer protection in the form of a trust.
They began by asking if I was aware of the ways that home and property could be accessed for care home fees if either the wife or myself had the misfortune of going into care, but that there were legal ways to protect against this circumstance, so I agreed for a rep to visit to outline what plan they had to offer.
He began detailing the process of taking out the necessary LPA's (which can be done online relatively cheaply as there are registraion fees) and wanted £1500 or so for this bit.
Then he outlined their Trust deed scheme which he declared would protect our home from being accessed and our savings too, which would be transferred into the trust and the day later I could withdraw as an interest free loan. Said deed would be a bargain he said at just over £4500.

But surely this would be seen as deliberately concealing assets? I asked.
All that was required he assured me was what suitable wording of the documentation that could be taken as proof that the trust wasn't just intended to hide our assets, but legitimately intended to show that for instance if my daughters were to divorce some of the money would leave the family and disappear into the distance destination unknown.

I listened without reacting thanked him and said, If I decide to take up your offer i'll let you know, when he had gone my wife in one of her lucid moments, remember she suffers from mixed dementia said
"That sounds too good to be true."

The problem I assured her is that it is far too patently a scam and if I was an official charged with sorting out the care fees, there's no way I would fall for it, and remember the power rests with that official to. decide, and you can only argue with that at your peril, at great length and considerable expense.

This is a shocking swindle and the Charities and Legal profession are warning that literally thousands of the elderly have been taken in all over the country and parted with huge sums for worthless bits of paper.
And all of this has been brought about by the Tory Party and their fleecing the elderly policies.

And with no sense of irony at all Boris is promising to come to the rescue of the old and vulnerable from the policy of his own party , that made the same promise to cancel it at the last election?
Anyone who is retired would have to be insane to trust that party and vote for them
I’m sorry to hear that you are faced with this situation, and agree with what others have said.

If it’s not a too personal question, why are you investigating methods of protecting your home from being used as an asset to pay for care? Ultimately, what would you like to do with the house when, as happens to us all, you and your wife have passed on? (I am assuming it is your home which is the subject of this post.)

I‘m just wondering from who or from what you are looking to protect the house from.
