With all that is happening in the country at the moment and the potential consequences, I was delighted to see that this morning’s edition of The Sun has embraced the gravity of the situation. They lead with the breaking news of a man who has perfected the technique of launching fireworks out of his arse. The heading reads “Bum Powder Clot.” Genius editorial skill.

Confirmatory referendum question:
Do you wish to remain in the EU and see idiotic "entertainment" on newspaper front pages OR leave the EU and see hard news with big words and difficult concepts in the sun?

If it weren't so utterly predictable, it would be unbelievable:

Brexit transition period will not be extended past 2020, says Gove

Cabinet minister promises no delays, despite PM having broken previous deadline
Michael Gove has promised that the UK will have struck a trade deal with the EU by the end of 2020 and will not extend its transition period, despite Boris Johnson having failed to meet his previous Brexit deadline.

The cabinet minister confirmed the pledge tying a Conservative government’s hands if the party wins a majority, saying it was realistic because Johnson had secured a deal with the EU within 90 days. In fact, Johnson’s deal is heavily based on Theresa May’s deal, which took about 18 months to negotiate, and most international trade deals take years to finalise.

The Cabinet Office minister set out the promise on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, where he also unleashed a series of personal attacks on Jeremy Corbyn for taking Vladimir Putin’s side and being a “non-league player” in politics against Johnson’s “Premiership goalscorer” abilities.

All lies and jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest, hmmmm

Either Gove is an idiot or he's as much a liar as Boris Johnson. Maybe both.

There's no such thing as "a trade deal", such deals are multiple for many different purposes and they take many years. Even the EU one with little Switzerland took 7 years and consisted of 120 deals.

Nor do they ever include services, so over time we'll gradually see 50% of our present exports value into the EU disappear.

Government confirms festival of Brexit still planned as it announces project manager
It was originally put forward by leading Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg, who said that it would be a "huge celebration" of Britain leaving the EU.

The event, first announced by Theresa May, is expected to cost £120 million with the government now announcing that Dean Creamer will be the person in charge of the project. He was a delivery director for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The government had hoped that the celebrations would lead to a repeat of the boost the country gained from the 2012 London Olympics through construction, tourism and trade.

Proving, if prof was needed that Jackass Grease Smog is even stupider than Boris
Q: is there really someone called "Dean Creamer"? sounds like another "Max Headroom" to me.

With any luck they will combine it with the next Millenial celebrations by adding it to Guy Fawkes night.

Perhaps he meant:
Deans Non-Dairy Creamer

But there really, really does seem to be one:
Dean Creamer OBE
Director, Commonwealth Games, Head of Profession for Project Delivery, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport

Would you stay in a burning building?
I don't like Rees-Mogg and I have no idea what it would be like inside Grenfell Tower at the time of the fire, but every instinct would have been compelling me to get out, regardless of what the water fairies were telling me to do. I think the press have seized on Rees-Mogg's words and perhaps unfairly and deliberately misreported what he said, missing out the context, and using exaggeration.

I think Jo Swindon has lost it. She believes that she’s going to be Prime Minister. There’s going to be a big pile of washing up and ironing waiting for her on the morning of the 13th. (Only joking of course, there is a very outside chance of her becoming PM, being struck by a meteorite sort of odds)
