Brexit, for once some facts.

How about this?

Secretary of State confirms to Brexit Select Committee that previous commitments to level playing field provisions on workers’ rights will no longer apply but appeals to MPs to trust the Govt’s intentions in this area...

I most certainly DO trust them to reverse all progress made in that area in the last forty plus
years!
It beggars belief that people who voted for Brexit still hold out any hope of it benefiting them when it it has got to the point where they have to trust the Government not to persecute them!

The fact that Grant Shapps seems to be considering renationalising the Northern rail network should be an embarrassment of titanic proportions.

The fact that the CBI has had to apologise over their ridiculous £196 billion cost of nationalisation claim should be an embarrassment of titanic proportions.

The cost and time overrun of crossrail should be an embarrassment of titanic proportions.

The cost escalation and seemingly likely delays and non-building of the next phases of HS2 should be an embrrassment of titanic proportions.

Pretty much everything to do with transport (yes, throw in Seaborne Freight, various BJ bridges, and many other things) should give an idea of the competency of the government. Yet, somehow, some people still seem to believe in them achieving some sort of workable, let alone beneficial, brexit - which is astonishing.

Traditional Brit costume for when abroad in sunnier climes...

Have you set up a spy-cam in my garden? Take this down immediately, it’s an intrusion of my privacy.

If it’s not removed within the hour, my people will be in touch with your people to begin the process of suing you.

There would be a couple of minor problems with the latest deal

Jo Maugham QC @JolyonMaugham
·I intend to lodge an immediate petition for an injunction in the Court of Session preventing the Government from placing the Withdrawal Agreement before Parliament for approval. We expect that petition to be lodged tomorrow and to be heard on Friday.

I imagine the Express headline to be something along the lines of
"Party pooper Remainiac plot!"

I don't think he's going to renationalise the railways.
The plan is not to auction franchises, just contract out the running of the trains, government will control the fares.
It won't cost anything until they screw up timetables and lose money on fares.

What a wonderful story. How fascinating. Has it been turned into a film yet?
Not sure where you are going with this, which part do you want clarifying? The accession of William of Orange to the English throne was orchestrated by London Merchants. They sold it as Protestant versus Catholic. The battle of the Boyne,in 1690, must even exist in English history books. But it was an illegitimate and illegal action. Of course it was retrospectively legalised

This is how it was worded in one report:

The Northern rail network could be renationalised after years of late and cancelled trains, according to the transport secretary, who said the current franchise cannot continue as it is.

Grant Shapps told the Commons transport select committee that first steps had been taken towards taking the Northern rail network back into public hands. He said he had asked the Northern franchisee, the German-owned Arriva, and the government’s operator of last resort to draw up proposals to improve the service.

that does not say anything about compensation for franchisees who own the rolling stock.
aas for the network itself, I still own some network rail shares, there is no rumour about nationalise network rail.

The long term plan is to just let the contracts run out and don't renew them.

Network Rail will still do the lines but government will run the trains.

Network Rail will get massive fines at any mistake, delays or engineering overuns.

I don't think the Battle of the Boyne in 1691 is in any history books, let alone English ones.

The DUP have realised that Boris's deal virtually guarantees Irish reunification when Brexit bombs on the mainland.
They're right.
they do what they did to TM last December at her brexit summit meeting. They chose the moment carefully for maximum impact.
I reckon it may have worked for them the last time but this time, it's a kind of déjà vu, BJ must have expected it.
I reckon he will sign the joint declaration tomorrow and get on with the vote on Saturday.
