On radio four this afternoon they were joking about the news, one posed this question
Boris says he will unite the people , anyone got an idea how to do that?
After a moment's pause came a response
"The only thing I can think of that has ever done that was the Lufwaffe.

Brexit is a mug's game?
I didn't say that.
Although a fair proportion who voted for brexit apparently can't spell out what brexit is for except keeping our fish.

Each MEP/MP should represent equal numbers of people.
Well before we lecture EU on their percieved failing, the UK Boundary Commissions had first better get our house in order with your proposal:

Size of constituencies by electorate

The number of people able to vote (the electorate) differs by constituency. The Office for National Statistics gives the average electorate across constituencies of about:

72,200 in England
67,200 in Scotland
68,300 in Northern Ireland
56,000 in Wales

As I mentioned earlier those variations are small at side of EU variations.

So the last three are grossly over represented since they have their own ruling bodies. That's especially true of Scotland which has it's own government and parliament and makes nearly all its own laws.

‘Sack me if you dare,’ Boris Johnson will tell the Queen
The Speaker, John Bercow, has been proposed as a national unity leader

Boris Johnson will dare the Queen to sack him rather than resign as prime minister in an attempt to drive through Brexit on October 31, cabinet ministers have revealed.

In an unprecedented escalation of the constitutional crisis, senior aides said Johnson would not stand aside if his proposals were rejected by Brussels and MPs tried to unseat him to avert a no-deal Brexit.

They said Johnson was prepared to “squat” in Downing Street even if MPs declare no confidence in his government and agree a caretaker prime minister to replace him.

Almost certainly this is another scam from Cummings to gains support for "heroic" Boris.
More likely is this from another Cabinet minister

"Senior cabinet source: "Our opponents have flouted convention, there's nothing in the fixed term parliaments act that says you have to resign. The Queen is not going to fire the prime minister. She will dissolve parliament and let the people decide."

Boris Johnson to sabotage EU if forced to delay Brexit
Boris Johnson would veto the EU’s seven-year budget and send a Eurosceptic commissioner to Brussels to “disrupt” the bloc’s workings if he were forced into a Brexit delay, under plans being discussed by ministers.

Senior Government figures are considering a series of proposals to “sabotage” the EU’s structures if Brussels refuses to agree a new deal or let Mr Johnson deliver Brexit without one.

Two Cabinet ministers told this newspaper that they were among those backing a more “aggressive” approach towards Brussels.

Given below is a series of promises, guarantees if you like, made prior to the referendum by Boris Johnson, David Davis, John Redwood & Michael Gove.

Will one of the Brexidiots please step forward and point out which of the promises has been honoured?

Will one of the Brexidiots please give us a good reason why we should place our trust in the people who made these promises to lead us to a better future?

People cast votes during the referendum based on the guarantees given below, so would one of the Brexidiots give us a good reason why it would be unfair to allow the electorate a second vote now that the lies have been debunked?

And finally, why isn’t the lying scum which spat the BS listed below being hounded 24/7, 365 days a year to explain themselves. They shouldn’t be allowed to set foot outside their front door without facing a continuous barrage of questions.

THE LIES ALL TRACEABLE AND WELL DOCUMENTED

Brexit will be easy, and have no downsides.

Trade talks will take place in parallel with divorce talks.

The UK does not need a transition deal and would not be subject to EU rules or budgets during one.

The transition will serve merely to implement the final trade deal, which will be agreed by Brexit day.

The transition will be short but open-ended.

The UK will owe no money to the EU after it leaves The EU.

A raft of new trade deals will be ready before we leave the EU

High-tech customs solution will make frictionless borders simple.

Free movement will come to an end on Brexit Day; and any EU citizens arriving after that date will be subject to a different immigration regime.

There will be no role for the European court of justice in Britain after Brexit day.

Britain will take back control of its fisheries after Brexit.

Just as well the GLA oversight committee will likely be demanding him attend before he is sacked as PM. Otherwise, squatting in Downing Street would be a problem. The landlord might change the locks when he attends the committee.

Hero BJ, again. As if it had all been developed since he became PM and was like a successful garden bridge.

Seventy years ago, at a laboratory south of Oxford, western Europe’s first nuclear fission reactor was developed. The technology, however, was commercialised abroad. Thirty years ago, the same laboratory created the world’s first controlled nuclear fusion but the international project moved to France.

Now, with the backing of Boris Johnson, the Oxfordshire campus is to develop a new fusion reactor. If successful, it would offer a long promised technological panacea for climate change at relatively little cost. This time, the plan is to keep it firmly in Britain.

Oddly, I could read that start despite the paywall.

Did any of you see the story about guide dogs and the NI border?

Seems it will be illegal for a guide dog to cross the border post-brexit - other than through Rosslare and Cork (I think that's what they said) as there is no other entry point deemed to have proper animal reception status.

Fun, in particular, for anyone living along the snaking border who needs a guide dog.

Hold it together people.

Not long to go now

I can see a few...well all of you wobbling today.

Thank goodness we didn’t have folks like you at Rourkes Drift. We would never have built the biggest and greatest empire in the history of the world.
