Unfortunately it IS!.. This gives me no joy Children are forceably removed from the custody of their parents , placed inside fenced enclosures , minimal facilities, no educational or supervision..just detention..,without court orders, criminal charges, ..which as children they would be innocent of in any event.
I believe it happened under Obama as well but because he's a liberal nothing was made of it

Reality is however, what would chart look like when leavers realise only option is "no deal". Will they go to the "no deal" or "remain" segments.???
Statistics can nearly always say what writer wants saying...

I agree.

I just thought it was an interesting counterbalance to the polls that are put on here with the reverence of the Magna Carta when they say remain is the popular choice now.

what do you suggest? Just let everyone in
I made no comment about that. The unspeakable cruelty is the conditions on those offshore detention camps and the fact of their illegal imprisonment. The legal and humane options are either to accept them or promptly transport them to their origins, Vietnam in many cases. Punishing by imprisonment without charge or conviction is simply very wrong and more illegal than the attempted migration.

What is interesting in DM are the reader comments and votes gathered for individual comments. Ofcourse its not a random sample but perhaps gives an indication of how majority are thinking. I like to stick a comment in now and again to see level of support (or protest) my comments attract.
This is most popular on there at moment. (for previously linked article)
IMG_20190626_141257.jpg

It had attracted 2332 supports to 146 negative..???
Dare some of our posters register and see what comments /support their offerings attract. This one will into millions looking daily.???
I wonder what JA's "feckless shites" " comments would produce??? (doubt it would pass moderation but try it JA)

if he'd have made those comments about "travellers" or Muslims or some other minority persecuted group ( of which we seem to have plenty) he would have been accused of some 'ism' or phobia and had the police knocking on his door, but because he is directing it at British people it is OK. And I would imagine he would be one of the first to complain. Talk about hypocrisy
He tried but couldnt spell it.
DM is crying out for an OG or a JA to post... Come on the pair of you, grow a pair. Publish and be damned. You will attract thousands upon thousands more readers..
Stop hiding in here. Get out and see what people really think, it is rather an insular closed group on this forum.
Gives a very distorted view of feelings and fosters such as JA to think their comments are acceptable because of lack of moderation and posting amongst like minded.

Of course it did, the biased Daily Mail is of like mind with its readership.

This non political pedelecs forum is not pre biased and the cyclist members have all shades of opinion. A balanced place to post in.

You must be joking.
Forum might be apolitical and non biased, this thread is far from it.For a start it way too small a sample size to make any claims about impartiality . One poster has written more on here than Tolstoy did writing War and Peace. (that is no exaggeration). Another poster assures us May was a poor PM because she is a woman. Another insists all leavers are liars and another cant post without calling someone "feckless shites". Oh, yes its really unbiased.
And you defend all those posters flecc because you share some pilitical views with them, and then you call it apolitical/ unbiased because it suits your agenda. I credited you with rather more insight.
Its way more biased than readers of "mail online". If you actually read comments on there you, d know many are arguing against DM stance. Its actually quite balanced in its reponses, way more than the DM journalists are and infinetely more so than this thread.

Unfortunately, these people are detained as a result of criminal activity, trying to illegally enter the US. If they hadn’t chosen to embark on a criminal enterprise, there would be no requirement to detain them. It’s a situation entirely of the illegal immigrants own making.

The “Concentration Camp” thing is just a jibe by sore loser types such as Colonel Sanders and his Democrat bullies. They insult those who suffered in real concentration camps by making their ridiculous comparisons.

We had some Australians staying last weekend and they said how effective their off-shore detention centres had been in reducing immigration related criminal activity. Illegal immigration has plummeted as a result. It’s a marvellous system.
I have read a bit about the concentration camp apology .. No I do not wear it. These are Concentration Camps . They are not Holiday Camps, or Extermination Camps ,they are Concentration camps and go against all the norms of civilised behaviour and established western law.. These are not just people, who engaged in criminal enterprises, they are Children who had no option in the matter. Futher, seeking to enter a country is not criminal, especially as the people are claiming refugee status. A crime has only been committed AFTER a person has been tried in a properly constituted court. Sometimes it is necessary to remand a person in custody before they have been guilty, but this is the exception, and why things that experts call Haebus Corpus was introduced

Irrelevant. The pedelecs forum is politically balanced and all members are free to join this thread. Whether they do or not and the politics of those who do is immaterial since thread entry is not conditional.

In contrast the DM doesn't cater for all in a balanced way, it's grossly pre biased and therefore predominantly attracts those who agree with its political stance. True of all newspapers of course.

They are not concentration camps, they don't even fit the definition. They are centres where people await free transport back to their homes. I am sure anyone who had been held in a concentration camp would not recognise what you are saying. You insult the memories of concentration camp victims and trivialise their suffering in a most shameful way. All for your own agenda.

The Australian model has worked. Many more people no longer face a perilous sea crossing, no longer give money to people smuggles or become slaves to gang-masters in once inside Australia. Numbers are way down, because they know it's a waste of money and not worth the risks trying to get in. Instead, they stay in their native country, or some come to the UK to grow cannabis for one of our gang-masters, to whom they are enslaved.

Although initially harsh, the Australian model does prevent greater suffering in the longer term.
