Brexit, for once some facts.

I agree, what is really amazing is that by all accounts the majority of Tori members are much better off than the average person in the UK, and so they have done very well out of the "system" over the last 44 years.

So why would anyone want to risk what has worked reasonably well, for something that has never been tried before, and for something that could have very serious down sides and doubtful up side. This defies logic, hence my comments earlier, leavers aren't interested in facts, Brexit has become their faith. I really don't see how you can combat that, no argument you put up is going to resonate with them, and I am not sure if a referendum would be much use either.

At the moment I think remain has about a 10 point lead in polls, but remain had an even bigger lead prior to the last referendum and look what happened. It would not surprise me if there was another referendum if leave would win again. People say, oh but we would now know what we are voting for, the problem is that many leavers don't believe anything that challenges their belief in Brexit.

The leave side would have all the charismatic people championing their cause (BJ, NF etc.) it does not matter that these guys are liars and cheats, they are brilliant conn men, more than capable of winning another referendum vote.

On the remain side who would we have, JC? Someone that was so keen on remaining that during the last referendum campaign he went on holiday for a couple of weeks at the height of it. It is well documented that he has never liked the EU, and I get the impression now that he doesn't really care either way if we stay in or leave. Just as long as he does not get the blame either way.

There is a case to be made that next time around some leavers would not bother to vote as they would consider it a waste of time, and that some remainers would vote who did not bother before because they assumed remain would win. There is also evidence that indicates that it is older people who are more likely to vote leave and younger people more likely to vote remain. So as older leave voters die off and younger people reach the age of being eligible to vote then this would help the remain cause.

Would all this be enough to counter act what would likely to another excellent leave campeign, and a hopeless remain one? I really don't see where we go from here, it must be quite nice to be say a Norwegian citizen.

The situation we are in will inevitably rworsen, as once the Brexit folly is consumated and the various parasites have made a killing out of it,they are likely to distance themselves from the consequences, and all this talk of "A new type of politics" will fade and the old order lurch back into disaster management mode.

There will follow a period of fantasy where exaggerated claims of a wonderful age of new opportunity ,seasoned with the odd actual positive result, will cover for a while at least the basic breakdown of the economy that will inevitably follow.

We will enter what can best be described as a "Weimar Republic" phase
At some point Fromage will be encouraged by his master Bannon to stage a power play and the old Fascist slide into chaos will be attempted, unless it is stopped.

I get a similar situation at a local BP petrol station that I still use for the car wash. Each day a number of police cars and vans gather there at the same time to refuel, meet up and snack in the M & S food shop it has. There's car parking space there and they seem to make it into quite a long break.

There was as part of the leave campaign a significant amount of blame of immigrants - for taking jobs, places in schools, hospitals. That's about as hypocritical as your posts. And bs. Leave voters difficulties to advance in life is completely self inflicted. And that's when they dont line up to give boris character references as on here.

Actually I said he reacted to situation in an understandable way and that neither should be prosecuted (which they arent).
By defencless woman I assume you mean the female protester entering into a private function, uninvited, having breached security and trying, and managing, to disrupt proceedings.
Amazing how when she enters she is a protester but in being removed a defenceless woman.

Unfortunately, these people are detained as a result of criminal activity, trying to illegally enter the US. If they hadn’t chosen to embark on a criminal enterprise, there would be no requirement to detain them. It’s a situation entirely of the illegal immigrants own making.

The “Concentration Camp” thing is just a jibe by sore loser types such as Colonel Sanders and his Democrat bullies. They insult those who suffered in real concentration camps by making their ridiculous comparisons.

We had some Australians staying last weekend and they said how effective their off-shore detention centres had been in reducing immigration related criminal activity. Illegal immigration has plummeted as a result. It’s a marvellous system.

if he'd have made those comments about "travellers" or Muslims or some other minority persecuted group ( of which we seem to have plenty) he would have been accused of some 'ism' or phobia and had the police knocking on his door, but because he is directing it at British people it is OK. And I would imagine he would be one of the first to complain. Talk about hypocrisy
