When she was making those earlier assertions of Brexit is Brexit and no deal better than a bad deal ,she may very well have believed them. Later as it slowly dawned that any deal was better than no deal ,it was to late,she was a hostage to too many soundbites,and compromises and trapped

my view is still that after the ref which the politicians gave us, had they accepted the result of the vote and said to the EU, ''we have voted as a country and stand together'' the deal would have been done and we would be moving on. Unfortunately a lot of our politicians are not democrats (especially the Lib Dems ) and had their own agenda's, so now we are in this mess. And now Stewart is talking about a ' Peoples Jury' or some such rubbish. Why would we expect them to take any notice of that if they didn't get the result they want.

I think she knew from the start brexit is undeliverable and gave the great unwashed the kind of soundbites that make them happy between episodes of corronation street. Im afraid it is still as undeliverable as ever and boris' empty words about immitating the charge of the light brigade and doing a hard brexit whatever is as insincere as may's. Its not, really, remainers who are being betrayed by the process. But i think leavers deserve the boris fudge thats coming.
