BREXIT BETRAYAL: Government already preparing to REJOIN EU - ‘They have COMPLETE contempt'
WHITEHALL departments are already putting in plans for Britain to rejoin the European Union (EU) even before it has left.

I should jolly well hope they have! better to have a plan than not, that should be obvious after this debacle.
it's the logical step.
Think of Britain as the ageing David Beckham having a mid life crisis.

Just what does anyone expect of a newspaper that promotes star sign astrology?

I see in that same rag, brexit mob are said to be suggesting Nicky Morgan as next PM - and then they insult us with project fear remarks!

whoever is the next PM, I expect the same choices remain: how long he/she will ask for an extension or revoke A50 on the 11th April.

I would not make any assumptions that an extension beyond April 12 ,even if the UK agrees to hold elections ,is assured. Comments made after the summit indicate that the concession was hard won.

I think we are heading for a deal + confirmatory vote.
It's only the questions on the ballot paper to be sorted out when the time comes.
If Common Market 2.0 + WTO/Canada + remain are put on the paper, then there should be widespread consensus because all three solutions have a chance. Plus, WTO/Canada after confirmatory vote is an orderly one.
JC is reported to support confirmatory vote.

For the record, 10:02 24/03/2019:
4,891,565 signatures

Andrea Leadsom (can't help almost typing Loathsome) will not be impressed. Why, of course you can dismiss almost five million in favour of a wafer-thin majority on a flawed referendum.

Which made me ask, what would happen if no-one would accept the poisoned chalice?
don't worry, plenty of MPs will want that chauffeur driven Bentley.

On the revoke petition ,Bristol West voted 31,000 signatures,24% of constituents.....wonder why so high in Bristol....perhaps Brenda likes voting again.
Very close to 5 million signatures,May will ignore it because 30 ERG headbangers and the aged Tory constitutes are more important to her.....David Liddington, her possible replacement seems to favour a soft Brexit.

By the time the next A50 extension runs out (22-May, 30-June or December 2020)?
I doubt any PM can get anything done.

Slightly curious. Tommie was posting every few minutes about the growth in the Westminster petition about exiting without a deal , which operated some weeks ago.,and is still live. He has made little comment about this one which at 5 million is 10 times larger.

Fine Gael warming to returning to the British fold - a step in the right direction!

Republic of Ireland should join the Commonwealth, DUP MP says

Sir Jeffrey Donaldson received a round of applause when he mentioned the idea at the Fine Gael party conference.

DUP MP Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has told the Fine Gael party conference he would like to see Ireland join the Commonwealth.

Sir Jeffrey received a round of applause when he mentioned the idea in Co Wexford on Saturday.
“I do hope we can come to a day when the Republic of Ireland will join with many other nations in the Commonwealth of nations and recognising, whatever our history, and whatever differences there have been in the past, that we’ve overcome a lot of diversity in the past in dealing with those issues, and I think it would be good in dealing with that.

“The Commonwealth is a place where Ireland’s voice should be heard and I would like to see that happen.”

Why would the DUP want anyone to join anything? unless it's a queue for a bribe?
Their speciality is for protection rackets after all.
But not for much longer, and we can all forget them.having Northern Ireland thinking it speaks for the mainland is like the tail wagging the dog.
