But surely the fact that the UK is leaving proves there is no prison. It's only difficult to leave because we made it so by sheer foolishness, there were better ways to leave.It's not that hard to make a case either way. The longer I am following this thread the more I see that.
I made the case in this thread years ago. Observing how successful that Germany and some other EU members have been in exporting worldwide and having rich home economies while being subject to EU rules and trading agreements, I pointed out the obvious:
If we believed we could successfully make it outside, then first do as Germany has to prove we could be successful and then leave with certainty. But if we weren't able to make it in that way, stay in of course.
That's sensible, the way we are leaving by jumping into the unknown with preloaded very serious disadvantages is just plain silly.
