Proroguing is a well established process for dealing with subsidiary parliaments. But I cannot believe it could happen to a supreme parliament. Were the Queen the absolute power, she could prorogure it.
The Queen can do it, parliament recently renewed her right to prorogue, see this link.

So she could if Theresa May ask her to do so to allow time to deal with the impasse.

Sympathies, a choice of two practically useless things.

Sorry, flecc.. I actually disagree. Latin provided a very strong basis for logic reasoning. The fact that it was no longer a working language, allowed it to remain very precise .

I was answering in AK's context, but actually I agree Danidl. With my extensive natural history involvement I would have to!

I put work out to tender and then choose the most appropriate based on experience, availability, track record and price. I pay the rate that people offer to work for. Every person I employ is registered and works either for a larger company or on sole trader basis. There is nothing illegal, underhanded or “cash in hand”.

You are such a blinkered person that you immediately assume that dealings are underhanded. The low wages are entirely due to free movement of people. There is an oversupply of trades in the area and this is driving down prices. People are undercutting each other in order to secure work.

I can’t believe what a narrow minded person you are. You are obsessed to the point of it being a sickness.
So if someone comes along employing slave labour and the quote is dodgy you would snap it up.
Message understood, the rest is intended to salve your conscience.. it shouldn't and figures from the Government give the lie to immigrants driving wages down.
You are peddling an Urban Myth and elaborating with spurious arguments.
Here in Hull the City has been rejuvenated by an influx of Polish workers and dragged it and it's economy out of the doldrums.
One groups of local workers did indeed suffer, mostly unqualified rip off artists posing as tradesmen.

So I am narrow minded am I? just who are you to judge?

I am not employing slaves. Where did that come from?

If I need a job doing and I ask 4 x individuals or construction companies to quote. What do I do when I get the quotes in? Why does this make you accuse me of using salves?

There is only one troll on here and that is you. Earlier today you were hurling insults around and making accusations that I was involved in dishonest business practices. I tried to engage you in debate and provided clear examples of how I operate. I even asked you to respond with alternatives which would be more acceptable to you. You have not done so, instead you now move on to attacking someone else.

You are a proven liar, you are a proven fool, you are dishonest and you deliberately cause disruption. From what others are saying, there even seems to be a strong suspicion that you are posting under a recently conceived name in order to conceal your original identity.

You are a thoroughly despicable man who has no grounds whatsoever for criticising other people's behaviour. I can put up with those who disagree with me, but when they resort to lies and dishonesty, that is a different matter entirely.

It would be better for all concerned if you left the thread. All you have to offer are lies and deceit. We can do without that and we can do without you.
Trouble is - he's a good troll. He says something outrageous - 'triggers' you - and then backs away. That's what 'trolls' do - that is how they work. You are left - if you're not careful - seething.
Step away from the computer. Wish the man a good day. Make yourself a cup of tea. Attempting to engage him with rational conversation - I fear - is not going to work.

Mate step away! They are all asking you some form of the following question:

"When did you stop beating your wife?"

It's classic trolling behaviour.

Make yourself some tea!!!!!!

Do some gardening!!!!!

Walk the dog!!!!!

(Ok I'm out of ideas now)

First of all I didn't accuse you of employing slaves, those are your words, I said you could be, there is a big difference.
With respect you don't know that they are not employing slaves do you? and in your own words
"Do you honestly expect me to reject a quotation on the basis of it being too cheap "
It isn't a matter of interest to you is it?

It was mentioned today that it is possible to have the transition phase without having secured May's deal but you cannot have the transition phase if you no deal.....quote from Barnier.
That seems illogical but would be attractive to May,to be able to kick the can for another 2 years!!!!
KudosDave

you may have got it wrong. David Davis and Nadine Dorries did suggest that we can still have a transition without May's deal (just pay some money for the 2 years) while negotiating a free trade deal.
Barnier did suggest today that he is willing to extend the transition to 2022 (UK to pay more money) to ease the fear that NI will be separated from the UK single market if an FTA cannot be reached by the end of 2020.
The ERG wants an FTA without needing the DUP. That can't be done without fresh GE.

Why shouldn't Scotland be independent?
why shouldn't the UK

It is not in Mr Barnier's gift to so do. Any extension of Article50 requires 27 members to agree. Any extension of anything requires 27 members to agree. The only things that have at present been agreed by EU are the Currently on hold Deal and apparently a few transport arrangements. . The only unilateral things not requiring EU engagement is the signing of the Deal by British Parliament, or the rescinding of Article 50 by the UK parliament. Even the imminent crash out does not require EU approval,. Whether it requires UK approval is their internal matter.
Mr Barnier may wish to facilitate the UK, but it is not his call. He is very influential, as indeed is Mrs May but not the final arbitrator.
