NHS Providers deputy chief executive Saffron Cordery told Today: "We are deeply concerned about what is going to happen. High skills does not equal high pay.

"You have got starting salaries for nurses at £23,000 - also for paramedics, midwives. Junior doctors starting salaries at £27,000, healthcare assistants at £17,000, all coming in way below that £30,000 cap.

"It is not just health workers, it is social care as well. We have to remember where the skills lay. They lay in those staff under £30,000."
Perhaps with shortages those jobs might start attracting the salaries they deserve.??

What group are you then Tillson? Now let me guess...

https://www.rifemagazine.co.uk/2015/01/cant-say-coloured-questions-race-answered/

It's not a British thing at all. The dislike for term started years ago in states and understandably.

Its nothing to do with PC. It's common courtesy. If a group of people don't like being referred to with a certain phrase, just don't use it. End of. What's the problem? The fact black people have been exploited for centuries only adds weight to not using term.
Is it so difficult for us to not use sexist terms like "stupid woman" and racist ones like "coloured". I accept both can be used innocently with no slur meant but why justify it..?? Its easier to just say OK.. Point accepted, we won't use those terms.. It's not that difficult Tillson.(Danidl)
And the black people I know certainly care and will say so politely when word coloured is used to describe them. And to be fair they would not see it as offensive just very naive and indicative of an uninformed white person.
I got the impression that BSA had unilateraly decided that the term coloured was offensive. I just googled BSA to find out who they were.

If the term is offensive, then that’s fair enough and a good reason not to use it.

Time to get off your jolly yacht jaunt in the sun Zlatan and come back down to planet earth. How fruitful is May's money tree? Who controls where the bountiful fruits land ? why do think they are looking at unpaid volunteers to fill the gaps at the NHS front line when the Summer and Winter demands are stretching as is - With Nurses doing the jobs that Doctors did a few years ago, HCAs doing the jobs of Nurses and unpaid volunteers doing the jobs of HCAs. My local centrally funded art gallery is laying off staff and replacing them with volunteers, same with my local library and police not having the funding to pay for staff or even training of unpaid 'Special constables'. What used to be police roles, even in a garrison town with MPs on hand are falling back on local businesses to pay extra in an unofficial taxation scheme to pay for private bowler hatted 'Street Ambassadors' to patrol the streets with an emphasis on tackling street crime and deterring homeless from the town centre.

New street team to help crack down on anti-social behaviour

"In an update on NHS winter planning for 2018/19, NHS England director for national urgent and emergency care Pauline Philip said: 'We recognise that the coming months will be a challenge.’

She told a joint NHS England and NHS Improvement board meeting on Thursday that officials were 'particularly concerned' about demands that would be placed on staff, who have already faced ‘a very difficult year’ with extreme pressure on the health service last winter and consistently high temperatures through summer."

https://www.gponline.com/nhs-officials-warn-frontline-staff-prepare-challenging-winter/article/1494234

The school where I'm a governor are having to lay off staff due to funding cuts will need to replace paid Teaching Assistants with volunteers to continue helping pupils - and this is even before Brexit unduced austerity measures kick in again effecting public services.

This has just landed in my email inbox.

I’ve replied to Helen Whately by asking why her husband has allowed her out of the kitchen to use the computer and that she shouldn’t worry her pretty little head over such matters. (Purely to wind her up of course). I don’t expect she will read it.

This really is playground politics.

Today at Prime Minister’s Questions Jeremy Corbyn called Theresa May a ‘stupid woman’.

This is just the latest in a long line of misogynistic behaviour from Corbyn and his top team.

Jeremy Corbyn ‘mansplained’ to the Prime Minister on International Women’s Day, called for women only train carriages and has a Shadow Chancellor who called a female MP a ‘b****’ and said she should be lynched.

Show them you won’t stand for this by joining the Conservative Party today.

We’re supporting more women to go as far as their talents will take them. Including tackling the abuse and intimidation women face in public life.

On top of this, with a Conservative government the female employment rate is close to a record high and the gender pay gap is at a record low.

That’s why I’m incredibly proud to be the Party’s Vice Chair for Women – join me as a member of the Conservative Party today.

Yours

Helen Whately MP
Conservative Party Vice Chair, Women

PS: Show Corbyn he can’t get away with calling Theresa May a 'stupid woman' by joining the Conservative Party.

They got that out quick... Wonder how much they pay Corbyn...
He just keeps walking into them...
She might read it and get Diane Abbot to visit... I, m convinced they are all on Tory payroll.
Have you seen the latest female Labour MP... Charged with perverting course of justice. Got a speeding ticket, got a male friend to say he was driving car... But only trouble was he was out of country at time, which police have proven, so it must have been obvious, then they have proved she was on street at time of offence... Her phone records... She might go to gaol... If its less than a year she can keep her job... as an MP... But taken whip off her...

Is it so difficult for us to not use sexist terms like "stupid woman" and racist ones like "coloured".
These are two utterly different issues.

It's normally unnecessary to mention anyones colour, they are all people and no adjective is necessary. The only exception I know of is if a full description is being given for identification.

But people do have two physiological genders and if someone is perceived as stupid and one wants to convey both factors, it's ok to mention them both, for either gender.

In your opinion flecc.
You fail to realise the connotations and connections certain phrases are assumed to have by certain groups. It's rather like your dislike of the term used against you a few days ago. It obviously hit a nerve. What that nerve was is irrelevant, the phrase used had more meaning to you than folk in general and you were plainly annoyed. That is your perogative and as such others, even though they don't attach the same importance to the phrase as you do, should not as a courtesy to you use the insult.
The receiver decides what is insulting not the dictionary and not other people. Perhaps as males we do not understand but never the less, the term "stupid woman" is plainly seen as sexist, misonogist by many people. So no matter what we see it as or what the dictionary grammatical meaning is makes no difference. It is perceived as insult, so it is. So don't use term. Easy.
If this were not case why has JC gone to great lengths to deny it when he plainly used term.
His greater mistake has been lying about it.
JC's comments afterwards proves he thinks the comment misogynist..

So you want her to do what???
It's easy shouting and screaming how stupid people are how wrong they are and what a bad job they are doing... but please tell us exactly what you, d like her to do...
Rescind art50... She can't...
Get a better deal... Tried that...
Exit with a no deal... A probability.
Resign??,Who takes over...???
I don't understand what all May's critics expect her to do...
At least she has stayed in office...
Just to remind everyone.. She is carrying out the decision from the referendum and she won a GE with leave in manifesto. (which it was in Labour)
Can you imagine the outcry if she ditches leaving. Tories are in power on pledge to leave. The mistakes were made weeks ago... Its rather late to be saying stop. She has no choice but to do all she can to leave. That by no means at all makes her stupid.
Stupid is assuming she has options. She has none.
Fact is we are leaving. It's May's deal or no deal. The GE and referendum decided that.

Dude you are buying into her bullshit.

You are crumbling.

Don’t.

The common travel area is a local concession organised since the 1920s and is operational between travel originating and terminating between the RoI and UK. It predates the EU and still remains. The greatest threat to it was the Ryanair insistence on passports as the only acceptable travel document. Aer Lingus will accept any valid identification. Foot passengers are not required to have any identifying documents. However ,it would be wise for anyone of Oriental or coloured or even Asian extraction, to have some identifying documents, proving they are resident in either jurisdiction. Otherwise they may run foul of immigration in either jurisdiction.

Coloured?

How ******* old are you?

Yes indeed, nothing like a pay rise to combat that ole sciatica flare up...

Austrian newspaper Österreich is reporting that EU Commission President Jean Claude-Juncker “caused a stir” and “had to be supported by two staff members” while enjoying a festive dinner last night.... perhaps a little too much.

View attachment 28196

now if this was Trump it would be `Breaking News` on Sky, instant programme rescheduling, the good and the great being wheeled into the studio to vilify and condemn..

But it`s Mr. Juncker, he`s The President of the EU..

so it`s OK

He has a bad back

And then what, or shouldn't I get my hopes up?

So what I heard was this.

after an interview Liam Fox was asked why is he supporting Mays proposal. Off air mind and off the record.

He said. It has zero chance of happening. I can still remain as a Tory but know when we get no deal I can still be in the frame as being someone who can be in the cabinet.

They are still seeing themselves first, party second and country third.

Basically no deal even amongst the cabinet is where we are.

Anyone that genuinely needs to know this for their business. I can tell you on my mothers life that Liam Fox believes no deal is the outcome. Use this info as you see fit. We are on course for no deal.

Liam Fox is a bigger liar than Tom.

I give that as a caveat. All I will say is. I don’t lie.

OK fingers, let's go for it. No deal here we come... Out of our hands anyways now..

Stay strong mate.

I intrinsically like you.

I would buy you a whiskey cocktail. You’re not a straight whiskey man. Not your style. You like what you like. You zig where others zag.

People like you full stop. Hence why you are so successful. You are light to moths.

Seriously. We know why we voted out.

Stay strong in your beliefs. It’s generally accepted that ones first thoughts are correct. Especially amongst the higher orders.

Who decides which terms are offensive? In this case it appears to be the British Socialogical Association (BSA). I thought they made motor bikes, but that shows just how wrong you can be.

I’ve looked at BSAs presidents over past years and all appear to be white male & females, also known as ass-holes. So it’s a case of white people getting offended on behalf of black people who probably don’t care either way.
Oh no! did you have to tillson? you'll set Zlatan off for sure with that! here comes another sermon.....

What is interesting this week is this Bombshell that has somehow hardly raised a ripple
From ABC News
"
In a bid to regain some of its vanished political momentum, the British government was publishing long-awaited plans Wednesday for a post-Brexit immigration system that will end free movement of EU citizens to the U.K.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid said the proposals — Britain's biggest immigration changes in more than 40 years — would create a "skills-based immigration system built around the talent and expertise people can bring, rather than where they come from."

At present, all EU nationals can live and work in Britain under the bloc's free-movement rules, but that will end after the U.K. leaves in March.
The government is proposing no limit on the number of well-paid, skilled immigrants who can settle in Britain, but curbs on "low-skilled" workers.

So our own brightest and best are passed over if they need training for well paid jobs as there is still FREE MOVEMENT for the best job vacancies
And not only that , it isn't just for the EU, but Worldwide.

What a collossal confidence trick that is, and it has been worked on "the people who knew what they were voting for.
They were promised
"An end to free movement" only to get it extended to the entire planet to the disadvantage of our own brightest and best youth.
How strange that not a single one of the leave voters on the thread reacted to this post that reveals how their precious Brexit is being betrayed?
How can this be?they should be up in arms about it.

Would the referendum still have resulted in a leave win had the public realised that this would be the result, preference for the best jobs for foreigners ,not merely from the EU, but now World Wide, rather than training our own people?
And there is little doubt that the so called controlled numbers for lower paid workers will prove to be highly elastic, though kept from public exposure.

Leave voters did not know what they were voting for did they? worse still from the lack of reaction, they don't seem to want to face up to the consequences.

And yet if a miracle happened ,and there was a third referendum publishing the true facts about the immigration policy would blow Brexit out of the water with the public, as it is the exact opposite of what was promised, and gives preference to ready trained foreigners over our own aspiring youth, including those trying to work their way up through the system
It is a Betrayal
And in today's Telegraph
"
The Government's grand post-Brexit immigration plan is likely to see numbers rise

Perverting the course of justice carries maximum sentence of life in prison. If found guilty she should receive a minimum of 2 years because she is a public servant and this sort of behaviour damages public trust. An example must be set. However, she won’t go to prison because women are treated differently to men by the justice system. They are discriminated against and don’t receive the full sentence to which they are entitled :) I wonder if Helen Whately will be getting her knickers in a twist over this issue? Somehow I think not, therefore she is not genuine and the outrage she has shown towards Corbyn is synthetic.
