The promises of Liam Fox to have 40 plus deals with the rest of the world have obviously come to nothing. Lets face it we are not very good at this negotiating lark and the EU are very good at it.
I would rather stick with the CU and keep the 60 plus deals that the EU have already negotiated than rely on Fox....surely Fingers even you must see the sense in that???

Can you not see that "getting through it " is way way short of what was promised?.. I don't know about Qataris intentions ,but I would be less sure about the Germans. What are your plans if the rocky six months becomes 18,24,36... ?. . What tends to happen is that it becomes the new normal.

Only the dimmest thought that leaving would be an instant boom.

We knew leaving was always going to be a struggle short term. The vote was for future generations.

She will win the vote of no confidence because the Tories will put Party before country but there really isn't a pathway to get her deal over the line.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if Juncker and Barnier suddenly find a way to change the wording of the backstop after she signs the deal on Sunday.
Why would May want to change the backstop, dont forget she is a remainer at heart....the backstop is her way of keeping us in the CU but without her being blamed by Leavers for it.

JRM said that we may have to wait 50 years to see the benefit....by then the oldies will have long died off and the younger generation will have grown up,surprised at the stupidity of their parents in taking us out of the EU in the first place and rejoined.
Anyway,we are not leaving.....BRINO

I think Fox is as thick as mince but lets get it right. We are not allowed to make trade deals, let alone announce them until we are out.

Because votes.

She has no chance getting this deal through the commons.

I think 3 to 5 years and we will know where we are.

The shortest time you will have to wait if doesnt work out and we vote to go back in will be about 10 years or 2 or 3 governments away.

You''ll get used to it. The hardest step is acceptance but it will come.

If you feel that way about Fox are you still keen on NO DEAL brexit???
For we will be relying on him to replace the 60 plus trade deals that we currently enjoy being part of the EU. NO DEAL will cause some horror tariffs on food unless we action deals very quickly. I am always amazed that the poor people of the UK who voted Leave are going to be the most hurt, dairy products and some meats will be the luxury of the rich.

Sorry but you are living in a dream,
There will be no acceptance from remain voters unless Brexit is an instant success

if it doesn't work out there will be civil unrest as we forecast, and it will not come from remainers any more than from leave voters waking up to just how bad a mistake they made.

No one will get used to it, for why should they? did leave voters expect to have to accept worse conditions after Brexit, when they were promised a golden future?
Are you mad? they will be incensed!

Explain if you can how half the population who didn't want this will accept five years of added stress they didn't vote for?
You must be off your head to be that naive.

If this move isn't an instant success there will be hell to pay, and all it will take is some nut job like Farage in foreign pay to come along and light the fuse .
Let us hope and pray that the next three years are not going to turn out as badly as they seem almost certain to.

And all because huge numbers of people were mugged by liars.

How dare you insult 17.5 million people when they had every reason to believe what was promised to them?
Because that is after all exactly what they were told to expect

You sound just like Farage
Promises back then, denials now
Here is the only truthful thing he ever said

Do you now consider that vote a mistake?
KudosDave
After careful consideration of things he hadn't the slightest glimmer of understanding of , namely the nature of the EU, its organisation, and our relationship to it.

In other words we have a clueless individual that voted on the words of liars and cheats and media propaganda

And he never bothered to do any checking for factual information either as his posts demonstrate.

Thanks are due to fingers and the other operator at the rear of the Panto horse, for their interest creating recent pointless prancing around that contributed despite their intention to disrupt the thread, to making it more popular than ever.

And provided us incidentally with an ideal platform for making the leave faction and the logic behind it look utterly stupid
