BJ's comment illustrates why so many Americans agree with Mr Trump.
He is seen (by many) as telling unpleasant things as they are.
.
Sort of like saying your best mates new girlfriend has a lovely personality when you really mean she's an ugly pig ? These people are politicians and should deal in diplomacy. Boris changes with the wind. Trumps full of wind.

I am not making excuses for Mr Trump's racist comments though.
Many African countries have economic growth thats much higher than America's. Trump does not know what he's talking about. If one wants to trade genuine knowledge about life, others for empty stereotypes, arrogant clichés, and other misguided manure trump or Boris is a good bet.

Some good news in for a change the Express
"
Nigel Farage PUNISHED by the EU as Brussels docks his salary to recoup 'misspent funds'
NIGEL Farage will be docked half his monthly MEP salary after a European Parliament investigation concluded that he had diverted EU funds to pay his assistant to do work which was unconnected to his official duties as an MEP."

About time too! and take some more for his lousy attendance record.

this time, the row was about DT's racist language, not the substance of what he said about immigration.
There is some parallel with the brexit debate.

Little people have ended up in gaol for mis-spending public funds.

[Not suggesting for one moment that NF is a "big" person in any positive sense.]

Very strange. If no luck with the new registration, try emailing Russell and Helen in website admin:

webmaster@pedelecs.co.uk
.
Just to update you on the email issue. It was caused by two Tapatalk accounts that I had not used for many years. Both accounts simultaneously woke from their dormant state with the options to send me an email for every event checked. I have no idea why this happened, but I have closed both accounts now.

I find this happens with other services, Twitter being one such offender. I uncheck all of the contact by email options, but periodically, every 12 to 18 months, all of the contact options re-set and I’m flooded with emails.

Thanks for offering to help.

Are you suggesting that by taking offense at trump's racism were overlooking valid substance in what he said (or that brexit wasn't about anti immigration, but for some so far overlooked substantial, valid reason)? My objection is mainly on this occasion to the substance of his anti immigration policies (I suspect he deliberately puts out closet racism, a bit like that top gear knob used too, to gain publicity and perform for the primates that voted for him). How can I put it, Elon musk grew up in a relatively poor South African family. As someone who may migrate to America, I'd hate to see it loose access to immigrants from Africa.

The clue is in the word loan. A loan has to be paid back, with interest! Hardly a benefit.

How come Trump doesn’t have to suffer Prince Harry’s royal wedding? Why should he get special privilege? I have suffered enough by having to watch and hear about Bill Middleton‘s marriage a few years ago. I think we all deserve a break like Donald Trump.

this is what he said "“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”
He wasn't talking about illegal children immigrants (the subject of the meeting) but the people to whom the USA has issued visas so potentially can settle in the US.
Trump said that instead of granting temporary residency to citizens of countries hit by natural disasters, war or epidemics, the US should instead be taking in migrants from countries like Norway.

I’m not defending him, but did he actually say thise words? I know that it has been reported that he said shithole countries, but the last I heard he denied doing so. It also seems split from a witness point of view, some say he did, others say he didn’t. That’s the situation as I last saw it, unless things have moved in.

Some were Democrats and some were Republicans at that meeting maybe that clears up the confusion?

Paul Ryan. GOP. Republican.

Speaker Paul Ryan on Friday afternoon broke his silence and condemned President Trump's remark about "sh*thole countries" from a day earlier.

Dick Durbin. Democrat.

"You've seen the comments in the press, I've not read one of them that's inaccurate. To no surprise, the President started tweeting this morning, denying that he used those words. It is not true."

Jeff Flake. Republican.

"The words used by the President, as related to me directly following the meeting by those in attendance, were not “tough,” they were abhorrent and repulsive."

Trump.

"Never said anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled country. Never said “take them out.” Made up by Dems. I have a wonderful relationship with Haitians. Probably should record future meetings - unfortunately, no trust!"

The stable genius has learned well:

Gaslighting is a form of manipulation that seeks to sow seeds of doubt in a targeted individual or in members of a targeted group, hoping to make them question their own memory, perception, and sanity.

With Roy Cohn as his mentor, what could go wrong ?

That depends on the level of interest, and whether the recipient would have qualified for the loan otherwise.
It was supposed to benefit those less well off remember?
Nice try on your part.

so it seems to be confirmed by people attending the meeting, He was commenting on the number of visas issued to Haitians (IIRC about 40,000), El Salvador plus some African countries, the total of US visas issued to citizzens of 'temporary protected countries' runs to about 300,000 since he became President.

Trump said that instead of granting temporary residency to citizens of countries hit by natural disasters, war or epidemics, the US should instead be taking in migrants from countries like Norway.
He might be more careful what he wishes for. Nearly 17% of Norway's population is of immigrants, including children of two immigrant parents. Not exactly what he desires.

As for what Trump might or might not have said, he's a shithole anyway so should know one.
