Brexit, for once some facts.

The number of British people applying for French citizenship has surged by 264 per cent in a year...
I understand I have the opportunity to gain an Irish passport as my mum was born there of Irish parents. I'm unsure about the requirements for a French passport but I doubt that I'd qualify although it has been suggested by some genealogists in creating my family tree that I most probably have lineage via my father from 17th century huguenots. At the time they were forced to flee the country, I doubt that any records were kept by the RC church. Hey-ho!

OG , no the centralists ( not right wingers) are sick of being patronised and insulted. There is no point expressing anything other than the accepted opinion on here. ( Ask Tilson, Peterl,Etc etc etc)
And we remainers are utterly sick of your persecution complex, that sees any criticism that clashes with your own opinions as insulting and patronising.
You don't actually have an opinion really do you? apart of course from the opinion that you are being insulting and patronised.
The thread is call "Brexit at last some Facts"
When was the last time you managed to post on topic?
You haven't even managed it this time, have you?
All you have come out with is fanciful ideas that are as likely to fly as lead balloons.
With you it's Brexit? I have no facts, will fantasies do instead, and by the way if you disagree that's patronising and insulting."

Whats amazing is that at one time we thought £50 million was a lot of money, now you have to talk in billions before it becomes a meaningful sum,we owe the Iranians £450million for tanks that they paid for but we didnt deliver,£450million....small change these days.
But to most of us these sums are not meaningful...which is dangerous.
Hope the old money tree bears a lot of fruit next year.
There is an urgent question currently in the house as to where Hammond is going to find the £50billion from, the answers will be interesting.

EU applications for UK citizenship up 80% since Brexit
This is true
"According to a Home Office report, there were 28,502 applications for British citizenship from EU nationals in the year ending June 2017 - up from 15,871 in the previous 12 months.

However you should read this
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-41430927
"n the 12 months before the referendum, 25,207 Britons applied for Irish passports; in the 12 months directly after the vote that number rose to 64,400.

And dont forget these people
"Roughly a million UK citizens already live elsewhere in the EU, and many more in the UK have the right to apply for citizenship in other EU countries. Since the referendum they have been doing just that in record numbers."

Remind me, what is there to boast about when comparing 28,502 to 64,400?

My suggestion would be have a Brexit Flag day just divide 50 billion by 67 million ( no, lets make that the 17million who voted for brexit) to work out the price.

I'm sure the Brexit Fans will buy them to a man, woman or whatever they are
Money can be no object to a Brexit lover.
And they can't reasonably expect us Remainers to pay for something we don't want at any price now can they?

That's about £2000 per income tax payer in the UK, but of course they won't be paying the bill.

London with 13% of the UK population pays 33% of the total tax take, so will probably pay £17 billions of the bill and on past record is resilient enough to be able to do that.

Whether the rest of the country can find the other £33 billions is much less clear.

Interesting comment from Morgan Stanley today. In a report to clients , from Graham Secker an equity strategist with them,
" mass nationalisation of industries, higher business taxes along with increased public spending as proposed by Labour leader Jetemy Corbyn will wreak great havoc with Uk economy, this is much more scary than Brexit" ( His words not mine)

He also suggests Brexit combined with a labour government will drive the UK into recession.
But he,s only another stupid economist, probably American or worse a Tory ???

On the " divorce bill" payment....would have made far more sense to crash out, save the £40kkk ( plus) and either save it to buy back in if things go to pot or invest it...in our infrastructure , business etc...Our government sponsored investment is small fry ( £2.5 kkk) compared to this, and HS2...

We are playing into EU hands, without a doubt all the noisy remainers are to blame for our current weakened position..

Are labour ever going to offer viable opposition, their current bury your heads in the sand and spout ideology sounds great but plays straight into the right,s hands.

I notice my comment about Herr Henkel has been conveniently ignored...

I suspect the Government will have to be better at "Border Rieveing" than even the Bell clan was in it's prime!

Just as an aside Zlatan thinks we remainers have a "Down" on him.
Allow me to show what a real "Down" amounts to
It is really rather funny.
"
In 1525 the reivers had become such a nuisance that the then Archbishop of Glasgow, Gavin Dunbar, put a curse up all the reivers of the borderlands.

"I curse their head and all the hairs of their head; I curse their face, their brain (innermost thoughts), their mouth, their nose, their tongue, their teeth, their forehead, their shoulders, their breast, their heart, their stomach, their back, their womb, their arms, their leggs, their hands, their feet, and every part of their body, from the top of their head to the soles of their feet, before and behind, within and without."

"I curse them going and I curse them riding; I curse them standing and I curse them sitting; I curse them eating and I curse them drinking; I curse them rising, and I curse them lying; I curse them at home, I curse them away from home; I curse them within the house, I curse them outside of the house; I curse their wives, their children, and their servants who participate in their deeds. I (bring ill wishes upon) their crops, their cattle, their wool, their sheep, their horses, their swine, their geese, their hens, and all their livestock. I (bring ill wishes upon) their halls, their chambers, their kitchens, their stanchions, their barns, their cowsheds, their barnyards, their cabbage patches, their plows, their harrows, and the goods and houses that are necessary for their sustenance and welfare."

"May all the malevolent wishes and curses ever known, since the beginning of the world, to this hour, light on them. May the malediction of God, that fell upon Lucifer and all his fellows, that cast them from the high Heaven to the deep hell, light upon them."

"May the fire and the sword that stopped Adam from the gates of Paradise, stop them from the glory of Heaven, until they forebear, and make amends."

"May the evil that fell upon cursed Cain, when he slew his brother Abel, needlessly, fall on them for the needless slaughter that they commit daily."

"May the malediction that fell upon all the world, man and beast, and all that ever took life, when all were drowned by the flood of Noah, except Noah and his ark, fall upon them and drown them, man and beast, and make this realm free of them, for their wicked sins."

"May the thunder and lightning which rained down upon Sodom and Gomorra and all the lands surrounding them, and burned them for their vile sins, rain down upon them and burn them for their open sins. May the evil and confusion that fell on the Gigantis for their opression and pride in building the Tower of Babylon, confound them and all their works, for their open callous disregard and opression."

"May all the plagues that fell upon Pharoah and his people of Egypt, their lands, crops and cattle, fall upon them, their equipment, their places, their lands, their crops and livestock."

"May the waters of the Tweed and other waters which they use, drown them, as the Red Sea drowned King Pharoah and the people of Egypt, preserving God's people of Israel."

"May the earth open, split and cleave, and swallow them straight to hell, as it swallowed cursed Dathan and Abiron, who disobeyed Moses and the command of God."

"May the wild fire that reduced Thore and his followers to two-hundred-fifty in number, and others from 14,000 to 7,000 at anys, usurping against Moses and Aaron, servants of God, suddenly burn and consume them daily, for opposing the commands of God and Holy Church."

"May the malediction that suddenly fell upon fair Absolom, riding through the wood against his father, King David, when the branches of a tree knocked him from his horse and hanged him by the hair, fall upon these untrue Scotsmen and hang them the same way, that all the world may see."

"May the malediction that fell upon Nebuchadnezzar's lieutenant, Olifernus, making war and savagery upon true christian men; the malediction that fell upon Judas, Pilate, Herod, and the Jews that crucified Our Lord; and all the plagues and troubles that fell on the city of Jerusalem therefore, and upon Simon Magus for his treachery, bloody Nero, Ditius Magcensius, Olibrius, Julianus Apostita and the rest of the cruel tyrants who slew and murdered Christ's holy servants, fall upon them for their cruel tyranny and murder of Christian people."

"And may all the vengeance that ever was taken since the world began, for open sins, and all the plagues and pestilence that ever fell on man or beast, fall on them for their openly evil ways, senseless slaughter and shedding of innocent blood."

"I sever and part them from the church of God, and deliver them immediately to the devil of hell, as the Apostle Paul delivered Corinth. I bar the entrance of all places they come to, for divine service and ministration of the sacraments of holy church, except the sacrament of infant baptism, only; and I forbid all churchmen to hear their confession or to absolve them of their sins, until they are first humbled / subjugated by this curse."

"I forbid all christian men or women to have any company with them, eating, drinking, speaking, praying, lying, going, standing, or in any other deed-doing, under the pain of deadly sin."

"I discharge all bonds, acts, contracts, oaths, made to them by any persons, out of loyalty, kindness, or personal duty, so long as they sustain this cursing, by which no man will be bound to them, and this will be binding on all men."

"I take from them, and cast down all the good deeds that ever they did, or shall do, until they rise from this cursing."

"I declare them excluded from all matins, masses, evening prayers, funerals or other prayers, on book or bead (rosary); of all pigrimages and alms deeds done, or to be done in holy church or be christian people, while this curse is in effect."

"And, finally, I condemn them perpetually to the deep pit of hell, there to remain with Lucifer and all his fellows, and their bodies to the gallows of Burrow moor, first to be hanged, then ripped and torn by dogs, swine, and other wild beasts, abominable to all the world. And their candle (light of their life) goes from your sight, as may their souls go from the face of God, and their good reputation from the world, until they forebear their open sins, aforesaid, and rise from this terrible cursing and make satisfaction and penance."

I love it!
The Bell's are still laughing!

Tom you can borrow this to curse the Conservatives if you fancy, it would seem pretty topical if you know what I mean.
You just need a Bell Book and Candle and a Full moon.

Strange that Nationalisation in Germany France and italy had the opposite effect and proved of great benefit.

OK so sell me a product or a service, whatever it is you do. I will use it and of course refuse to pay for it.

The UK has signed obligations to pay monies for various things in the EU. There is no "divorce bill" it is just paying what is owed. You can disagree or offensive language all you wish it doesn't stop this being fact...

I didn't use any offensive language, you did. ( telling people they do not understand is infantile but they dont have an infantile emoji)
And, no I wouldn't pay for such sh!te EU give us. I,d make them take me to court and I,d win...goods unfit for purpose.

Yep, we can either put each other on ignore or I,ll continue hitting dislike for your ( choose an appropriate adjective) wrong, condescending, insulting, rambling, infantile, posts..
Your last one was especially boring. It was your worst among a plethora of bad offerings.
And in your case your clan emblem is missing an "END" at the end...

And again you are wrong OG. I do not think remainers have a down on me at all, its just a fact a few have a down on our country and cant post without condescending attitudes.

I asked a simple question. If you read offense into that simple question I pity you, you are as thin skinned as they come! Best not play on the internet if you find simple questions offensive.
