I'll have you know that most Tories come from respectable families, doubtful too many SNP can say that. You do have strange bedfellows.
Your joking of course, look at the family trees of this current batch of toffs and they land right in the thick of the 'Right Club'.....280 of our finest English families that wanted to seek peace with Hitler, including the King, and had bedfellows with Lord Haw Haw and Oswald Moseley. This lot want to take us back to the 1930's where the serfs knew their place,'old boy'.

Not too sure what you are actually saying, but we seem to agree that Tory voters are respectable - even in Scotland.
If you're Scottish then I think you'll Know what I'm saying. If not just forget it, it's probably best not brought up in this thread, it's weird enough in here already. No, I don't think most Tory voters up here are respectable.

Since percentage numbers of folk using A&E unnecessarily snowballed

An A&E department (also known as emergency department or casualty) deals with genuine life-threatening emergencies, such as:

loss of consciousness
acute confused state and fits that are not stopping
persistent, severe chest pain
breathing difficulties
severe bleeding that cannot be stopped

Triaging will ensure people with the most serious conditions are seen first.

Funnily enough many moons ago whilst working in London I cut myself on the hand with a Stanley knife when cutting a live domestic electrical cable (don't ask ;-) - much too my surprise on arrival at A&E I was whisked urgently through the queues to be treated immediately - not because of the cut but for possible problems caused by the electric shock on the heart. Lesson learnt whatever reason you need to attend A&E for i.e. splinter, ingrown toenail etc. add a dash of electrocution! or invest in an old copy of the Reader's Digest Book of Family Health for DIY at home options...

I,d agree with all that...I went about 3 weeks ago with what I thought fairly innocuous symptoms...arrived at 10.30 am...by 12 had seen triage nurse, a doctor, had an ECG and then a Cardiologist. ( seen not had) Sent home with instructions to return at 4,:which I did, by 4.45 had had another ECG, further blood tests and a long lecture from cardiologist ( Including why didnt you come sooner and no you cant go sailing or out on your ebike) now on 5 lots of tablets..
For AFib they think I,d had a mini stroke. ..They were absolutely brilliant..I think all under control now but seeing Cardio on Friday.. Joys of getting old...but better than alternative ...
Need a bigger suitcase to go back to Spain.
Think somebody wants me to stop sailing...but I ain't..not yet for a while.
You can burn out...or fade away..I,ve seen latter...no thanks.

The European Union
I think something like this was suggested the other day in regard to Ireland. We have exactly the same things in place on Day1 - it just takes a measure of trust and goodwill...
Trust, goodwill and the English Tory Party? Sorry I was born in the colonies, my blinkers were taken off a long time ago. Come on try something new, how about a hard border for a hard brexit?

Agreed Zlatan, keep going to keep fit, always the best way so long as there's no stress and what's being done is enjoyed.

Tell that to the people who work in the car industry!
I suspect any one working for the Eurpopean owned firms are worried but anyone working for Tata owned may well be thinking of a brighter future...Toyota ? I,m not sure...
Pity we haven't actually got a home grown , owned car builder. ( Besides Morgan, not even sure who owns Lotus anymore but I have heard TVR are looking forward to a bright future ??)
Perhaps its time to resurrect BL, demand the mini is returned. ( Can you imagine Germans selling rights to Beetle or Golf)

Why couldnt some UK entrepreneur buy Jaguar / LR.. Too busy showing off on Dragons Den and Apprentice.. Alan Sugar...Amstrad was crap

So this is what our trading arrangements may look like, post Brexit.....

The “new customs partnership” is the more ambitious of the two, but comes with significant compromises. It envisages the UK copying, or “mirroring”, EU tariffs for imported goods ultimately bound for other member states. A smartphone flown into Heathrow could be put on a truck and sent to Paris without passing through another physical customs barrier because any EU duty would be charged in the UK. Importers would either have to submit to electronic tracking to show that UK-only goods were not sneaking off to the continent, or else would just be charged the higher tariff rate upfront and then claim a rebate if it ends up in a British shop. The unspecified corollary of this is that UK-produced goods would also get to escape EU import tariffs because we would strike a far-reaching free trade deal at the same time. If everything heading for the continent or Ireland is tin effect duty free, we don’t need physical customs checks – or so the logic goes.

That sounds difficult. Is there an alternative?
Officials concede that their plan has never been tried before and is highly ambitious. It depends on substantial goodwill among the EU27, who will have to have the same faith in HM Customs and Excise and the honesty of British business as the UK government seems to be ready to extend. If it cannot be agreed, the UK proposes trying to mitigate existing customs controls with the “highly streamlined arrangement”. This also relies on companies agreeing to report exports in advance, or perhaps once a month for big shippers, so border controls can be reduced to number plate recognition cameras and similar mechanisms. Officials point out that much enforcement from non-EU countries already takes place far from the borders, but this system could also require them to be checking on EU consumer standards as well. They may be able to persuade Dublin to accept such a scheme in the interests of Northern Irish peace, but it is hard to imagine France, for example, taking everything on trust. The EU’s chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier, is understood to have advised the French government to invest in new customs infrastructure at its Atlantic ports. How “streamlined” it proves is anybody’s guess.

Looks complex to me.

Actually on rereading its a very simple deal.
HMRC in conversation with a bike importer from China resident in Belfast...

HMRC 'You appreciate that you are now in a privileged position of being able to import tariff free from China. Your friends in the south have to pay 54% duty.
Bike importer 'Yes,its a chance to sell competitively in Northern Ireland.
HMRC 'You do realise that with no border with the south,it is your responsibility to advise us of any bikes shipped across the border'
Bike importer 'I have a good business in the north,I have no need to ship across the border'
HMRC 'If a customer comes from the south and rides his bike across the border you have to advise us'
Bike importer ' Of course I will'
HMRC 'You lying bastard'

There is no way the EU are going to agree to this, they described it as fantasy,I think they are right.
This government are up with the fairies or is it the leprechauns, hehe.

Not unlike the scenario played out in the HOC last night either. Of course there will be some who choose to go the NI or indeed anywhere else and ship back to their own country and lie to their own Customs - get real! You can't stop, only mitigate such things. Whatever rules you have.

I believe the EV holds great promise for us here in the UK with a home grown manufacturer. I think this came up before including a use for some of that Paradise money.

Which is why it is wrong to over dramatise these things which I'm sure even you will admit has been the 'game' played by the remainers since Day 1? Same game - same people!
Meanwhile in the UK in the real uinverse, lying cheating and over dramatising have been the standard approach techniques of the leave campaign, and now it's all falling to bits, the lies have become more and more extreme and the propaganda demonising the EU as being like the USSR is now running flat out.
Truly I wonder how you manage to keep a straight face when you come out with this second hand propaganda that even you cannot possibly believe.

Come on OG be fair, the propoganda machine has been wearing itself out on both sides of the debate. Had we believed Osborne we,d be bankrupt now with FTSE down at its lowest.
You cant on the one hand say leavers are fools for believing propoganda but then believe all the other rubbish.
We should all have learnt to ignore either extremes of the issue...the truth will, as it nearly always does, lay somewhere in the middle.
Months ago Mark King said he was a little surprised at the level of intensity this referendum had caused, he felt in 20 years time it would have little influence on UK,s strategic economic position. There are other issues which will have far greater affect, ie wether we have Corbyn in power for starters.
Fact is we now have thousands upon thousands of new economic experts all willing to offer and push their limited knowledge and guesses as fact.
Many said UK would go bust when we didn't join Euro; left ERM , etc etc. Yes, there are going to be big changes, if it happens...there will be winners and losers. As to all of us losing. I somehow doubt it.

I don't believe the other rubbish remember? my concerns are social not economic and so far things are not going well are they?
And they are going to get far worse.
The government is in chaos, haven't you noticed?

Got mates I swim /dive with older than me and resting HR sub 50's..but 55 was after spells of training...but 60 at most. There will be cyclists on here well under 55 resting...( but top cyclists, marathon runners etc are between 3 and 5 times more likely to develop AFib..( but you are right..OT..)
Cardio reckons its a combination of training over years...and high blood pressure causing mine...??? Who knows..

From.wiki
"

28 beats per minute

For example, Miguel Indurain, a Spanish cyclist and five time Tour de France winner, had a resting heart rate of 28 beats per minute, one of the lowest ever recorded in a healthy human. Daniel Green achieved the world record for the slowest heartbeat in a healthy human with a heart rate of just 26 bpm in 2014."
