errr... I thought there was more than 2 camps... you're in one, seeming to want EFTA, there is another Brexit camp that wants out of everything, and there is a group that wants to remain as it is. I'm sure there is a group that wants to remain with some reform of the EU, and I'm equally sure there is a group that want to remain and go further, ie adopt the Euro.

So that's at least 5, I'm sure there are more.
And then there's me...

we continue with 'great repeal'. When the EU makes new laws, if they suit us, we'll import them.
Our Supreme Court is the ultimate court, you won't be able to take a UK company or UK government to the ECJ. There is no ambiguity in what she said.
And if they don't suite us we will have no option but to accept them too or lose trade.

Yes, agreed again. My motive for pushing point on thread has been fact leavers , including myself, have been continually portrayed as racist. Our region voted Brexit quite strongly yet even under all pressure of mentioned incidents our communities have remained united and all turned out against EDL when they reared their ugly heads near us.
Asian, Muslim, white, pakistani have actually all united against the gangs. Sarah Champion knew that and was simply pointing out to a wider audience what has happened.
If country cant have an open discussion ,the behaviour will continue. Corbyn is simply bowing to demand from PC brigade who actually do not understand the situation.
It seems to me he always takes easy way out, he has done same with Brexit.

There hasn't been a single act of reprisal, yet posters on here insist we are a racist nation. I don't think so.
Amazing that without being racist we created the Biggest Empire in Human History, caused mayhem and havoc in India , China, Africa, and everywhere else we went, and still are waging wars of aggression in the middle east, and supplying weapons to dodgy regimes waging racist wars.

Why are we leaving the EU if we don't feel a sense of National Superiority?
What is that BUT racist?

if one particular directive does not suit us, we don't have to import it. Disputes between members are arbitrated by EFTA court. Their judgement is advisory.
I did tell you that EFTA would suit us.

So when Ryanair have an argument over landing rights in the UK,they will take the matter to a UK court?
KudosDave
yes. That's what would happen if we join EFTA.
Now you see why Ryanair wants us to remain in the EU.
If you are a UK based airline, you are not worried.

Ok,we dont join EFTA, you are a UK based airline who is arguing over landing rights in say Germany....very real at the moment with the collapse of Air Berlin?
Who adjudicates on that one?

Today,Theresa May said .....about the ECJ

What is absolutely clear, when we leave the European Union we will be leaving the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice,” she said during a visit to Guildford in Surrey. “What we will be able to do is to make our own laws.

So pleased we are all in agreement,hehe....

... and yet a British Airline is setting up an Austrian one, because they aren't worried at all. They are just doing it for fun, because they are making so much money they like wasting it. Not worried at all.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/07/14/uks-easyjet-sets-up-new-airline-in-austria-to-protect-flights-post-brexit.html
Its obvious why Easy jet are doing it because they dont trust Theresa May to have set up a new 'open skies' agreement because of her intransigence over the ECJ. If they set up an Austrian business they can use the open skies agreement under the ECJ to fly anywhere in Europe from European bases, similar of course to Ryanair. What happens with the UK can only be considered later.

a German court. If you are still not happy with the outcome, you escalate to the ECJ.

I fundamentally disagree with the xenophobia, racism at the heart of brexit. The dishonesty of a feckless, lazy electorate projecting their woes onto a relatively small, more productive population of immigrants too. In principle I don't seek a compromise with the kind of people who endorsed it. Not that I think it's possible, they have a hidden agenda (eg destroying workers, consumers, citizens rights) - and frankly I think any suggestion of a compromise is just a ruse, an attempt at getting remainders to collude with, in my view, a disgusting agenda.
And you wonder why you lost. How high and mighty you think yourself to be! To all the honest decent people who voted how they did for their own good reasons - and you treat them like this. Shame on you. Seriously. Shame on you. Shame on you for your utterly disgusting attitude. Shame on you for being so utterly disrespectful. Shame on you for calling the majority of voting Brits feckless and lazy. How dare you treat so many hard working decent people with such disdain. You have nothing but my contempt.

UK airlines aren't worried, apparently.

I'm confused.

UK airline is clearly worried, so sets up new Airline... its actually happening.

or should we listen to Woosh??

Perhaps Woosh should email EasyJet and tell them not to worry?

There's one point on the ECJ where Theresa May is right and the EU are definitely in the wrong.

The EU are insisting on their citizens in the UK being subject to the ECJ, but that is nonsense.

When we travel to any country we are subject to their laws and courts. Since the EU citizens are voluntarily here, they must be subject to our UK courts while here. That is long standing international understanding, and anyone coming here accepts that by their voluntary entry.

So two foreign courts instead of just one using our UK judges.
.
if the dispute is about German landing slots then the local court has competence. I can't see any problem with that.
The ECJ deals with the interpretation of EU laws. Even if you petition the ECJ, your chance of being heard is very small. They pick and choose which cases they want to hear.
