Is it time then to call in the spelling and grammar police? I have been called a lot worse than 'idiot' so I shan't be overly upset if readers of these pages view me as such for signing off as I have always done, necessary or not.

Is this kind of headline just bluff and bluster from certain big business concerns or is it really true?
My own opinion is that it is probably the latter but I'm old and whatever happens in the future won't really affect my lifestyle if I'm still around. Should it come to pass, I shall feel sorry for the younger generations for the mess we will have created.

Have you noticed that Davis,May,Grayling etc answer every question with an answer which is identical.
Its as though they have 20 stock answers to almost any question....do you think May told them,these are the answers,now go away and memorise!!!
Bit embarassing the Goldman tape for May,I wonder how long she will go along with 'Brexit means Brexit',thats getting a bit stale, to 'we are open for business' and 'we are building strong relationships with Europe' as a prelude to a U-turn that wont look like a U-turn,hehe....

There's no bluff there, they, General Motors, had already moved all of Luton's car production to their main German plant long ago and only assemble shared design Peugeot vans at Luton. One model car assembly at Ellesmere Port was only retained for political advantage, which vanishes if we leave the EU. I'll be amazed if GM retains any UK presence with Brexit, there won't be any point to it.

I have just been reading the comments on Heathrow from Chris Grayling, one of the most ineffectual front-bench politicians I can recall.
Politicians and business tycoons have lied through their teeth repeatedly over the years regarding the issue of airport expansion in the south-east. In the full knowledge of what an enormous number of people would like, they have ridden roughshod over all objections in order to get their way.
Here, we have a ventriloquist's dummy in human form re-iterating all the same claptrap as before. Of all the factors that come into play when considering the expansion of airport capacity, only one matters with politicians and their friends in business - corruption! There are no good grounds, economic, strategic, health or anything else for further increasing the size of Heathrow airport.

So Schiphol, six runways in a country far small than ours; Frankfurt, four runways; Charles de Gaulle, four runways; and America's main hub, Atlanta, seven runways, have all got it wrong?
Trying to operate an airport with Heathrow's status with two runways is ridiculous. As the old saying goes, making an omelette means breaking eggs, times and circumstances change which means we have to change with them.
Most of the housing around Heathrow was built long after the airport was founded in 1948 and much of it after it became large, busy and noisy, That was the choice of those who built, those who bought and those who chose to live there now. I know that because I lived at 49, Longford Avenue, East Bedfont from when that was a small village in farmland countryside and saw it greatly expand to merge into Greater London as the airport also grew on the northern flank of the village.
I know it so well that I also know there was an airfield there before Heathrow, something very few are aware of.

We are all finding this humorous at the moment,but I can see it all ending in tears. We all know that the May catchphrases 'we're for everyone','open for business','free trade capital of the world' are just so much bullshit. OK in 20 years time Brexit may or may not be a good idea,but the pain on the way will be awful. Even if we can replace our EU trade,this will take years,are Brits willing to take the austerity pain,I thought most Brits were fed up with Osborne's austerity.
She 'let the cat out' today with what she really thinks,which must have alarmed ardent Leavers,ultimately she has to have a plan that she can get through parliament and the EU or forget the whole thing,but that may take years,in the meantime what damage is she causing?

brexit happens because the conservative party has won a slim 12-seat majority in 2015.
If they lose that majority either through by-elections or at the next general election, brexit will be reversed. When you think that about 40% of tory voters voted to remain, it is very possible that Mrs May is the last conservative PM for a very long time.
