They won't be after Christmas.
the main wave of price hikes hasn't happen yet.
the full force of the cheaper Pound will hit the pockets of mums and dads in the run-up to Christmas. The trade unions may then start a few strikes in the new year, asking for 10% pay rise. My guess is the tory remainers would be willing to sit and wait for brexiters to get fed up.
A sort of "Group Therapy" of the type
"Behold the Monster you've created?!
Style of thing?
That could definitely work :D
(But only if somehow they can gag the Gutter press!)
Who will undoubtedly scream it's all an anti Brexit Plot by the Entire world.
Rather like the Kenneth Williams line when he was playing Julius Caesar in Carry on Cleo, and he was assasinated.

"In for me! in for me! they've all got it in for me!" (The Brexit anthem as the curtain comes down?)

I understand there's a fuss about David Cameron's Honours List recommendations including Remain campaigners but no Brexit campaigners.

I think that's as it should be, why honour those who've done us so much damage at present. If Brexit is eventually very successful, those who campaigned for it can be honoured then in recognition. But to do it now could look very silly if Brexit fails.
.
I protest in the Strongest terms as I hear that Boris and Gove are definitely in line for "The Order of Lenin"
Just ask that nice Mr Putin, he speaks very highly of them.
My personal choice for these too would be the "Attila the Hun" award for Diplomatic integrity.

From the Daily Fail today
"
Brexit boost for workers! Six in ten people believe leaving the EU will boost their salaries and have a positive effect on their career prospects
  • Men more confident of Brexit boost to their career prospects than women
  • Less than a third believe EU split will have negative effect on their salary
  • Major survey of 28,000 Jobsite users finds just a third would consider pursuing their career in another EU member state following Brexit vote"
I do so love optimism!

Pity that it is only a dream, here is another viewpoint
Almost half of Workers fear for jobs.

the author of the Mail's article says McDonald's was accelerating plans to create an extra 5,000 jobs by the end of 2017. Lloyds' ex-employees should feel quite safe now.

I've long lost count of the number of times McDonalds have announced the creation of several thousands of jobs, never with any following evidence of large expansion.

I think they and many other companies that do this only do it on demand to gain political favour. It's probably initiated by government as a cover for bad news, as evidenced by a number of such announcements since the Brexit vote consequences became apparent.

Time for a Sitrep
  • In line with the new requirement to "Control our Borders" the entire Navy is in Devonport as they will find it easier, cheaper and quicker to travel by bus to any point of our 7500 miles of coastline as their ships keep breaking down.
  • The job of rescuing the illegal immigrants has been passed back to the RNLI who were better at doing it any way, and they have over 350 boats!
  • It also has the dual advantage of said RNLI not having to rescue Royal Navy warship crews who risk embarassment if their ship breaks down after taking on drowning immigrants

I would point out that our local McDonalds has 150 plus employees on their books.....and about 15 behind the counter at any time.
Of which 5 have permanent jobs (A friend works there, which is how I know)
These are not real jobs, are they?

No they're not, I was aware of this from local young people who have worked for them part time at various times. But it's amazing how often they announce a several thousand increase but never announce redundancies!

In their "The Briefing Room" series on Radio 4, there's a good program titled "What Do Remainers Feel Now?". Set partly in Lambeth it is genuinely interesting and those living outside London could find it informative. Lasting 28 minutes it's on the i-player using this link.

A couple of weeks earlier there was an equivalent program about the other side titled "Why Did People Vote Leave?", based on Wakefield where most voted Leave. That is also available on this link.

This is unique dynamic not seen since the days of the Civil War, where almost equal and hostile factions rule among the public.
Even a General election really only directly involves at the very most less that half as many people, and potentially this is almost as big a split as there was in India after the second world war that resulted in partition, and the formation of Pakistan.
The Government HAS to make Brexit work for all our sakes as to fail in doing so would simply be catastrophic in terms of Civil Unrest.
The notion "GET OVER IT" is probably the most dangerous thing said in many years when it is aimed at 16 Million people.
Things had better start going right very quickly if we want peace on the streets.
And the leave camp have high expectations of control of immigration (already denied as a policy by the Government)
And Better wages and conditions , again not going to happen.
What will the reaction of the 17million be to that disappointment?
Will they be told to "Get over it?"
And what do we have? a Government that manages to fail both sides in this argument with delays and excuses, and the Press needs to be brought to heel to help the Government solve the problems we all face, not carry on like the rabid trouble makers they are.
The only forseeable outcome appears to be that the Government will make some "Fudge" for the sake of expediency and we will all, every one of us, be told "Get over it!"

"
GlaxoSmithKline and Google's Verily to invest £540m in joint UK research centre
The new venture will be called Galvani Bioelectronics and headquartered within Glaxo's global R&D centre in Stevenage, in Hertfordshire, with a second research hub at Verily's facilities in San Francisco. It will initially employ 30 scientists, engineers and clinicians and there will be cross-collaboration with academic institutions and smaller R&D firms around the country."

Forgive my lack of faith, but only 30 Scientists, engineers and Clinicians for such an onerous task?
This is just another small Project Team and not the big deal it is made out to be, especially when the second research hub at Verily's facilities in San Francisco. is mentioned.
And just where will the investment and manufacturing end up do you think?
This is another one of the McDonalds style fantasy jobs claims.
And what are they aiming to do?
"The idea is to create implants the size of a grain of rice, or smaller, that can be bolted onto nerves to treat diseases, augmenting or replacing drugs. "
Using electric impulses? Ten minute job, that!

Corniest comment today
"
Morrisons cuts prices by 18% to counter Brexit fears
Morrisons is cutting the prices of 1,045 items by an average of 18 per cent in a bid to combat fears that the UK’s vote to leave the European Union will lift shoppers’ bills."

Don't they mean Aldi and Lidl fears? and manage to get some "Patriotic Kudos" for free too, great Marketing Ploy!
I wonder why they were obviously overcharging by 18% for the past ten years or so? Will there be a rebate?

And now for the not so good news, what becomes of the profits of their suppliers and staff wages when they hit them to lower costs? as they aren't going to lose profit share are they?

Obviously they are hoping that Brexit fans are indeed as dumb as they take them to be and accept this as a gesture of Patriotic solidarity and goodwill.
In other words fall for lies once again.

OG your pessimism is only surpassed by your cynicism
Only from the viewpoint of someone who desperately wants to believe there is a Father Christmas.
Which part of my assertions didn't you agree with?
As usual a Brexit fan makes a non specific statement.
That is after all, all they have ever had.
A dream.
