They want to go back to the good old 19th century. Same plan as MAGA
I had to look up what MAGA means.

it is 'Make America great again'.

it seems so to me too.
Congrats to the BBC for educating the masses. If the transitional period is long enough, the UK will be the first and last to leave the EU.

At last nights World Swimming Championship one of swimmers asked for a minutes silence in respect for victims of terror. His wish was refused. In his race he remained on blocks.Marvellous gesture by Alveres..( report didn't give his first name)

Oxygen
Folk come in here to reinforce their industrial strength self righteous opinions against Brexit, not to offer any optimism about leaving. That's been obvious since around post 10...Not sure all the ranting actually serves a purpose now but its keeping a lot of nurses happy.

It is simpler than that anotherkiwi, the ECJ is just one thread in the EU puppet masters string that has to be cut for the UK to detach itself but don't worry it will still have 27 to play with after we are gone.
Where do you get "Puppet Masters Strings" from? what the heck do you think the Torys are trying to do other than shove their greedy hands up the proverbial backside of the Public Glove puppet?

Good grief, on the one had you are clearly intelligent, but on the other not very wise to the ways of the world are you?

We were one of the instigators setting up the ECJ to prevent the vary abuses you are now championing as if they represent "Freedom"

The Torys want to override the ECJ so that they can Abuse Human Rights at their leisure and that includes yours too.
They already have three laws illegal in the EU they can apply after Brexit and there will be many more.

Well. Whatever. You could go on all day and all night here arguing back and forth - doesn't make a farts worth of difference as far as I can see.

Bottom line? You lost. We're Brits - not Europeans. We're English. Not Europeans. We won. You lost. End of. I think its a good thing. You think its a bad thing. So be it. Time will tell. Have a nice day.
Are you aware that the Scots, Welsh and Irish also inhabit these islands? along with millions of mixed race people?

We are collectively European, as there is no such thing as pure "English" as no one can define a time when the inhabitants of this country were not a mixture of other cultures.

The bottom line is we have all lost because a significant proportion of the population representing 30 odd percent of the voters fell for a pack of lies and promises.

Inevitably when Brexit goes down in ruin we will end up, for the same reasons of necessity as the first time we joined in the European adventure, applying to re enter the EU and be part of it when it becomes the United States of Europe.

You lost, get over it, and now you are going to not merely suffer for this temporary foolishness achieving nothing but hardship, but if you live long enough, having to adapt to becoming a citizen of the United States of Europe.

You have pushed Oxygen into that reaction. Nobody actually thinks like that . Its only like saying " feck off". Its not meant literally.
Your attitudes are equally stuck and inflexible. We have all got to bend and compromise. Being opinionated and self righteous only leads to conflict or intransigence.

Well, my sympathy. you must buy truck loads of bs daily on the basis of 'as far as I can see'. Be careful out there.

yours is an unlikely scenario.

We are leaving because JC does not want to stay in the EU anymore than TM. Is he an idiot? self serving perhaps but not an idiot.
Citizens of the remaining EFTA countries have been asked again and again 'do you want to join the EU?'. Again and again, the people say no.

Therein lies the difference between a Brexiter and Remainer. Brexiters want little England back ,don't like 'foreigners',even travelling abroad they need 'tea like Mum makes' and bacon and eggs in Benidorm.....They are usually xenophobic and racist......I have a few guys who work for me who are exactly like that, many have no passports because they have no intention to travel abroad, their children will be bought up to have similar views.
I am very much a Remainer, I consider myself more European than British,I have an international outlook and my children equally embrace the world...my son is an airline captain based in Poland and my daughter director of alumni at a university, both consider themselves European and their careers and attitudes the better for it.
I travel the world buying from every continent,I love my job and just as comfortable doing a deal with a Brit or German or Chinese,I have more friends abroad than in the UK
I feel sorry for little Englanders, whatever happens to Brexit their inward looking views are finished, the world is small now and containers make moving goods around the world so easy. The U.K. Is primarily a service led economy, manufacturing is difficult against the Asian economies,I don't see Brits wanting to work for long hours and low wages as Rees-Mogg clearly intends post Brexit. If the UK is to survive we need to trade with the EU and the rest of the world but not necessarily manufacture products in England.
You say 'you won,we lost',I find that rhetoric amusing.....there will be many Remainers that will win post Brexit and there will be many Brexiters that will lose post Brexit,I don't see how Brexiters will win post Brexit unless they embrace the world which from your comments you clearly don't want, enjoy your black pudding, hehe.

Do you really not know or was that disingenuous? Norway has rejected it in 2 referenda because 80% of its exports are oil. Per capita it has the second biggest sovereign wealth fund in the world (150000 euro per citizen), funded by oil. Naturally (no pun intended) they are reluctant to give it up. You are not comparing like for like. The UK will never be in this position.

The tory Party, UKIP, the EDL, Britain First and the like are full of the kind of characters described in this infographic:

20992870_1694811980593280_526664999132326125_n.jpg

These are the kind of people who support liars, racists and warmongers:

At what point, I wonder, will those in the UK who have been gulled by racist liars and out-and-out fascists finally realise that they are wrong? I expect it may be too late when the message finally gets through.

Since it has already happened once for reasons that are actually repeating themselves, why is it unlikely
Inevitable is the word.
As to JC, I gave up on that one a while back
Fake Socialists who think socialism is replacement for the local Parish Council are the worst kind.

I think it was KudosDave who recently described himself as happy to be identified as European.

Looking at my own genealogy, I am equally delighted to be known as European, not because of the geographical aspect, more because my lineage has Irish, Scots and French connections. I expect if the 'Brexidiots' were to examine their own family history, many of them would discover that they are not the thoroughbred English stock that they imagine themselves to be.

Theresa May is absolutely against control by the ECJ,hence why we lost Euratom ,nuclear agency.....but she is going to have to accept ECJ decisions over the 'open skies' agreement or we won't be able to fly in or out of Europe from the UK....we won't need another runway at Heathrow.
O'Leary (Ryanair) has given her to September 2018 to get a deal together or he will start deleting flights out of the U.K.....he will do what he threats ,just ask the French-he pulled every plane out of France in 4 days, sacking hundreds of groundstaff.
He can fly his routes in reverse, that will make Stansted a ghost airport, thousands are employed there.

Human rights come under the domain of the Council of Europe and the ECHR consisting of 47 states of which the UK is one, only the EU rejects the supremacy of the ECHR.
