Did you mean to type, 'don't'?I don't think Tillson would be suitable.
Did you mean 'suitable' or 'shootable'?
Tom

Well I'm free most afternoons, as Trump would say, "how hard can it be?"[emoji1]I remember Thatcher getting someone from M&S to oversee the NHS.
It didn't get any better, but M&S got worse.
Getting the right people in the right job thats the hard part.
I don't think Tillson would be suitable.
Labour would do better to campaign along the lines you suggest. All Corbyn has to do is add two further items.
Brexit will not happen
Failure in management in state run industries will result in at best dismissal, at worst it may result in prosecution in criminal or political reasons interfere with efficiency.
There will be a bonus scheme: make no mistakes and you will retain your position, fail and you are out.
There will be no cash bonuses ever.
And yes I did work for a company that operated on those rules, it works!
Was my experience that wrong people got promoted. They were ( are?) selected not on ability but on their skil at jumping on this months band wagon.Whatever current trend is those interested in self promotion adopt it and ride it to next level. Those good at job stick to their beliefs and present pay scale..After a few years it means organisations have had all sorts of directtion changes and end up with short sighted fools running them. Saw it in education, Civil service but not in private sector. Its main reason I got out of both institutions mentioned.Labour would do better to campaign along the lines you suggest.
I have no faith that further investment in public services will yield much benefit. Failure, incompetence, dishonesty, greed and an unwillingness to be receptive to criticism is rife amongst public service management. It's embedded in the DNA of the organisations. This is where the focus of attention needs to be concentrated and once eradicated, lets then talk about investment.
68% of Brits now want Brexit to Happen do they?
Is this a record 4 agrees ?Was my experience that wrong people got promoted. By the way, can somebody who knows more about labour and Jeremy Corbyn please explain why they are not supporting remain ?
I agree with some of Tillsons opinion but also think throwing money at right places is not as bad as explained. There are always spin offs and unseen gains with most investments. Investment can promote growth in associated areas. Its exactly opposite to policy Thatcher used ( Keynism) but both policies have worked in various, countries. I agree re wasting on poor management though.
And where is the money thus extorted going to actually end up? Does anyone believe it will be effectively used to train locals and not just disappear?Oh boy now the NHS http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-39956541 will have to cough up even more to hire nurses (and other medically skilled staff) from abroad - which the govt i.e. you and I (and Brexit voters) will have to pay extra for.
Filipino nurses to plug staff shortages in Lincolnshire
and guess which county voted more in favourite of Brexit...
"She will announce extra costs for employers who choose to hire non-EU immigrants in skilled jobs by doubling the charge known as the Skills Charge.
The revenue will go into skills training for UK workers. Non-EU migrants will also have to pay more to use the NHS. The manifesto will also rule out removing students from the immigration statistics.
The Immigration Skills Charge, which was introduced in April 2017, is levied on companies that employ migrants in skilled areas.
It applies to immigrants from outside the European Economic Area and is currently set at £1,000 per employee per year, with a reduced rate of £364 for small or charitable organisations.
Under the Conservative proposals, it will double to £2,000 per employee per year."
Here is a classic case of propaganda and the use of an idiot with a big mouth to promote someone in an election.
I have no envy for people who earn a lot more money than me, but I do think under successive governments since Mrs Thatcher, they have been paying less tax than they should have. Less tax for the top 5% means greater divide between rich and poor and more austerity for public services.
