Just seen this, from Daily Mail. Spot the deliberate mistake.
I, m not an expert with Geography but even I know where Hungary is. Wasn't sure about Slovakia... So checked. I hope this map was made by DM and not supplied by NATO. Troops will be in wrong country.
The country marked Slovakia is actually Hungary.
Slovakia is the next country to the North.
It's bad tho Flecc. We all make mistakes but that's why media outlets have editorial teams. Or we assume they do.It's all the same to the Mail.
They probably still believe Wogs begin at Calais.
It's still less than 24,000 troops on the NATO side, so not much of a response to 150,000 from Russia, even before their latest reinforcements.
.
One reason I like the Guardian is that it regularly identifies mistakes and will add a correction to an article. Including identifying that they have done so.It's bad tho Flecc. We all make mistakes but that's why media outlets have editorial teams. Or we assume they do.
On the troop numbers... Nato can't and never could keep a standing army big enough to deal with invasion. It's a trip wire, with latest technology available. (in theory).. Would slow any incursion and that would attract attention of mobile units. Its been strategy throughout. Even with the tanks. Russia always vastly outnumbered NATO. Idea was they, d be slowed by our few long enough for Apache helicopters to take out massive numbers.???
I think other point is to keep numbers low so Putin can't see them as an invading force. But he does,he's making threats towards Finland now they are debating joining NATO.
NOOOO!!! I'll never find my third Russian bride But a good defensive measure? Cyberspace attackers would find new domains quite quickly, many sellers accept cryptocurrency. The Register has another interesting issue:

In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine last week, Mykhailo Fedorov, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, on Monday asked the head of DNS overlord ICANN to disable country code top-level domains associated with Russia.

The last one was annulled (at the very least) by her husband, who also broke my legs and sold my house. At least I'll always have the memories... of the house I used to ownShouldn't that now be your fourth?
Ah - you've deleted the duplicate post. The last one was annulled (at the very least) by her husband, who also broke my legs and sold my house
Sorry about that, this Logitech trackball marble is finally randomly double-clicking. They don't last as they used to, it's definitely built-in obsolescence because I recall using an older model for over 10 years.Ah - you've deleted the duplicate post.
Not a problem - just source of mild amusement.Sorry about that, this Logitech trackball marble is finally randomly double-clicking. They don't last as they used to, it's definitely built-in obsolescence because I recall using an older model for over 10 years.
Years of neck pain forced me onto vertical mice (which vary wildly in verticality), then a Penguin joystick wireless mouse, then trackballs - my favourite is the M570, which I can't use anymore because I ended up with a very tender thumb after 5 years. Now it's the Marble, which is the best I've found so far - can switch to the other hand when pain occurs in my neck or fingers. The M570 gets use when I'm on the sofa - wireless trackball and it's really a great design... just wish they used longer lasting switches and a larger ball to prevent thumb tenderness:Not a problem - just source of mild amusement.
Afraid, I've never got on with trackballs. A small mouse - with quite high acceleration - is my choice. And a bit of plywood as a mousemat when on sofa. Got an excellent trackpad on this laptop - and I rarely touch it!
I'm finding the Logitech M350 Pebble works well for me. And is at the inexpensive end of the scale.Years of neck pain forced me onto vertical mice (which vary wildly in verticality), then a Penguin joystick wireless mouse, then trackballs - my favourite is the M570, which I can't use anymore because I ended up with a very tender thumb after 5 years. Or he doesn't want a poisoning like LitvinenkoI keep thinking how difficult it must be for the Ukraine negotiators to meet with the Russians. The emotional charge must be almost unbearable.
And the other day there was a photo of Putin at one end of a huge table - and a group of underlings of whatever sort at the extreme other end. Is he concerned someone might carry a suicide explosive device in with them?
Certainly seems to be the best thing we could hope for.
I was forced by pain to experiment with many designs - at one point I was switching throughout the day between three types all connected at onceI'm finding the Logitech M350 Pebble works well for me. And is at the inexpensive end of the scale.
It could do far better though, under 24,000 troops out of nearly a billion population. On the troop numbers... Nato can't and never could keep a standing army big enough to deal with invasion.
Yep, agreed. Think things are going to change though. It could do far better though, under 24,000 troops out of nearly a billion population.
This of course is the USAs biggest complaint with us, Europe not pulling their weight with defence.
Turkey , similar in scale to Germany with just 84 million population has the second largest defence force in the world with 355,000 regulars and 380,000 reservists, showing how it could be done.
