Shows what voters think of both Government and its opposition.
Terrible result for Tories. Bad for Labour too.
Can't see it been replicated throughout country but certainly sends a message.
I thought Labour did alright, Libdems benefited from vote lending.
Bad only for Johnson although Labour need Johnson to stay in post until the next election.

That trailer looks massively overengineered though, not at all the kind of thing I imagine someone who recklessly promote letting it rip would design..
Not overenginered for the heavy stuff I designed it for. It had to carry cookers, undercounter fridges and freezers and large CRT television sets. All part of the recycling I did over a decade in retirement for my 53 neighbours who had no council recycling service. I even carried a double bed cut in half on one occasion.

Our local recycling place looks as if it will be moving from just up the road (a five minute drive - and not that much longer to cycle) to about ten miles away. There are, it seems good reasons for the change, but it will be a blow to us and many others - and make such a cycle trailer approach somewhat unfeasible. Not a good road to cycle along.

Even in our London borough we were faced with a similar threat, but the huge storm of protest we kicked up scared the council enough to drop the plan, so I still have my local one at three miles distant. They've even upgraded it recently.

Countries that have very low rates of vaccination and have not had many cases of pervious covid variants are quite likely to be in very serious trouble with Omicron. Something this contagious is going to get into their country and is going to rip right through their population, if its around the same virulence as Delta then their health systems are quickly going to be overwhelmed.
Since we have our own case here as I've been posting, I'll keep you up to date on this.

London's very low vaccination rates for our 10 millions are a big enough sample, some large boroughs barely over 50% with two jabs and over 2.4 millions with no vaccine whatsoever.

I seem to remember the Lafree had a NiMh battery & 3 speed hub.
Yes, that was the original like mine, rode like any ordinary bike on the flat when power switched off and better in that respect than any other e-bike since. In my hilly area I swapped the Shimano Inter-3 hub gear for an SRAM P5.

Depending on how it is counted and what you believe, Wales as a whole has excellent recycling rates in comparison to other countries around the world. And, within Wales, Pembrokeshire is at the top of the list. I do think our council tries very hard to make the whole waste collection and recycling system work as well as they can.

If they re-locate the recycling point, it will increase the distance for us, but reduce it for many others. Always difficult and I have some sympathy as whatever they decide will upset many. Costs seem to preclude two locations.

Although I would love to see a mid pandemic Patel truss slugfest. It would be ugly, stupid and misinformed, everything everyone is finally realising about this government - but most of all public (and the blue wall seem sufficiently limited to need to have the obvious presented to them this way)

When corrupt liars and cheats (Tory MPs) say they aren’t going to lie, cheat or engage in corruption anymore, I can’t help but not believe them.

I need to see actions such as sacking and deselection.
And when a corrupt liar and cheat (tory PM) says he accepts responsibility, I can’t help but not believe him.

Asked whether he took responsibility for the defeat, he replied:

I do. I think my job is to get over what we’re doing more effectively.

Responsibility isn't just uttering some words.

Especially when he immediately attempts to blame everyone, press, public, other politicians, for obstructing the task of informing voters about the government’s agenda.

There is only a “constant litany of stuff about politicians”, because they are corrupt, they cheat, and they lie. And the press, public, other politicians, shouldn't knuckle under and discuss only the government's (PM's) priorities.

And I like the idea of sacking some of them:

sacking
the deliberate intention of punching a guy in the testicles.

Paradoxically his attempts to escape responsibility is his undoing. Standing lying blatantly at the dispatch box obviously in full public glare. So obviously the dimmest member of the blue wall can not miss it. In retrospect a clever spad would have wrung a tearful fake contrition out and he would have been every tories good bloke again. A cheap bottle of champagne say further lies and denials will trigger a leadership challenge in two weeks.

I rather agree - assuming that, we are in a position to calculate that the flat refurb runs out at something like £150 per day. Basing it on New Year's Day 2020 to 2022.

(Any incoming person is bound either to get rid of it entirely or put up with it on the basis that they will receive much criticism over spending yet more money on the place.)

A new Tory leader at present could result in an overwhelming demand for a general election, since it's far from being only Boris that's the trouble in the public view.

Trouble is then that I don't see Labour getting in at a general election without the support of Scotland, and that's long gone to the SNP.

And despite their spectacular win yesterday, the Lib Dems aren't remotely ready to win a general election.

But I do see a hung parliament and do we want another coalition, seeing the components on offer?

We really aren't in a very good place.

Do you think quite a lot of these people have already had covid from one of the previous waves? This appears to be what has happened in SA and those previous infections do seem to be enough to stop most people ending up in hospital if they get Omicron.

I rather like the notion of hanging parliaments (starting with this one)
How many suitable trees in London great parks?
