no worse or better than any other industrial town in England and had no harder time in past than same.
Do you have to display your ignorance in public?

http://www.rhaywood.karoo.net/bombmap.htm

"Hull was the most devastated city in the UK per square mile - even more than London - but a Government notice preventing its naming for reasons of national security was only lifted in the 1970s. Its role has subsequently been largely for2gotten outside the city, despite by efforts by local historians to raise its profile.

Your ignorance goes beyond excusable, you have no knowledge of the history of this country worthy of the name, do you?

Well since I stayed in formal education until I was 27 and hung around a college for another 35 years you could say I was a slow learner
No it doesn't it actually proves you were a diligent learner, and presumably helped in the education of others but a good joke there nonetheless.
Unless of course you were a janitor? ;)
Where's that smiley?

The debate in parliament might just point out to all the unconvinced remainers there is a more optimistic view of brexit than generally percieved
Do you really believe that? the Mp's who are in favour of Brexit are the people with the biggest motive to exploit the public, not much chance of anyone believing their lies now after so many have turned out to be false in the past is there?

Now they've been able to be more selective and vote against the current government and main opposition parties by voting Lib Dem.
.
Sadly, it reflects the fact that people have short memories. The 'yellow- bellies' went around the other parties at the 2010 election in a cheap, old-fashioned, horse-trading way trying to get the best deal for themselves, not what was best for the people of the country. They sold their soul to the devil for a taste of power then demonstrated how untrustworthy they really are by backing almost every piece of wicked tory legislation until they were swept aside in 2015 because the public had finally seen them for the cheats and liars they are.

They are no different today and have nothing to offer the British public, only surviving as a political party because of the relentless anti-socialist propaganda emanating from tory central office and disseminated to the public via the tory media organs.

Afraidd I,m getting sick of you and your conceited ignorance again OG.
Its completely irrelevant but Hull fared no worse than Coventry, Luverpool, Cardiff or Manchester..They were all bombed heavily.( Wife is from Coventry)
But absolutely nothing at all to do with topic , just sums you up yet again. A complete PITA.

I repeat, putting decision to invoke art 50 with MP,s should ( but obviously wont) reduce the nastiness between opposing views. Either way its their responsibility and conscience. I will accept their decision. Seems you cant.

Woosh,Danidl have made excellent contributions and attempts at finding middle ground. With yourself and Tom that's plainly an utter waste if time.
Lets just hope majority of public are not as intolerant as yourself. It will lead to civil war otherwise.

You could have left it after the word 'knowledge', OG, although I really don't know how you have the patience to put up with the troll at all because that is all he is. He has no connection with the 'raison d'être' of this forum and is only here to cause mischief.

He would quickly disappear if everyone simply ignored him.

I suppose i should have known better than point you at some facts, as really that is taking advantage, isn't it?
And in answer to your query, can I accept the Mp's decision to invoke article 50?
I already answered that with a yes, and for reasons I explained in such simple terms, if you are able to employ memory, you would recall.

Once again you have managed to completely forget previous statements made, for the sake of causing an argument, where none exists.

Conceited Arrogance? I leave that to you,. how could I possibly match your experience in that respect?

We called them porter's and they knew all the gossip, the facts and anything worth knowing. Always important to stay on their good side. Putting in the smiley is very hit and miss on my machine

With no disrespect intended to the Scots readers of these pages on this, the anniversary of the birth of the great writer and poet, Robert Burns', here is an appropriate application of one of his fine works:

.....and just as luck would have it, I have just this moment, been given a copy of the tory economic plan in full, which I am happy to share with you here:

That sounds like a lot of lecturing or a lot of gardening.:D

Tom
It's actually a lot like gardening, There is a yearly pattern,. You plant Seeds of knowledge, hope it will flower into understanding, try and try to weed out ignorance. Fail and then try again the next year on a new crop... Lecturers and gardeners are ethernal optimists.

"ethernal"? I like that, it has shades of arcane meaning, there's more to you than meets the eye!
I suspect that in the majority of cases education is more of the nature, as one of my old teachers succinctly put it.
"The most optimistic of callings, rather like pouring water into a colander faster than it can escape though the holes."
He was marking one of my scholastic efforts at the time so I assumed it had made an impression.

My eldest Daughter is a lecturer at the Hull polytechnic.
In all other respects she appears normal, and it could be worse, she could have turned out to be an Engineer like her father.
In her defence she is aiming at the earliest possible retirement date.
