That is always the case. There is a well known bandwagon effect, which I remember back in the day .. remember Cold Fusion?. Remember Tachyon emission?. But in fairness these Scientific re-evaluations are all part of the truth and reconciliation process.
And great for obtaining spaffing grants too, at least here!

I think as well as Covid-19, we are suffering from a pandemic of excess researchers and other boffins trying to make a name for themslves on the back of Covid.

Anything to avoid getting a proper job.
.
I never knew there were so many professors these days. They are like dog shite, one on every street corner.

Has it become easier to become a professor in recent times? I suppose now that a degree has been devalued to an attendance certificate, it must be. I saw a lady on tv the other day who was a professor of Twitter & Facebook, but she called it something fancy. I met another lady on PR and Communication course who was a Twitter Doctor. She was full of **** and had nothing useful to say.

Anyone who has followed the saga of my vaccine situation will be interested to learn the final irony.

While I was out this afternoon for my weekly shop, the vaccine centre phoned. I phoned straight back on getting in, but it was too late.

Apparently they'd allocated a last few doses that were available at the centre to my surgery's outstanding list but they'd finished booking them by phone since I was out. They confirmed that it's likely to be a wait now until there's more supplies, so if they are sticking with the Pfizer since we've only been a Pfizer area for the first jabs, that will be April for me.

If that's the case, so much for Boris Johnsons promise that all the top priority group including we over 80s will have had the first jab by the end of February.
.
I told you that the Boys and Girl's at Menwith Hill are big fans of this thread, to get my injection I had to use the name Martin Borman:cool:

I’m sorry you missed your slot and I hope you are offered an alternative very soon.

A mobile phone would have been handy in these circumstances.

Oh for the good old days when we had Professors of impeccable repute and great communicators such as
Stanley Unwin. Who can forget his Michelin Tyres advert?
"Outstandyfold in the wetty grippers?"

All of my energy requirements are supplied by a Cold Fusion reactor which I have built.

Party Boy Johnson will be throwing a big get together within 6 weeks, he can’t help himself.

His position isn’t helped by his back-bench psychopaths arguing for more public mixing.
My selfish hope is that restrictions in England and Scotland are lifted by around the start of May, to allow us our holiday to the west coast in mid-late May.

If it's lifted in time even though I think it shouldn't have been I'll have a minor moral quandary. I think we'll just have to take the holiday to give us time to ponder what we ought to have done.

I had exactly the same situation last year. We booked a cottage In Cornwall for two weeks during October . The booking was made prior to Coronavirus being on the radar.

We felt as though we shouldn’t go and potentially spread the disease in the West Country. The letting agency said there would be no refund if we cancelled, so we thought, stuff them, and went. There has to be a bit of give and take. They won’t give a refund, so I’ll potentially take them Coronavirus.

We have not booked anything this year. I think we’ll give it a miss.

Quick question, Chris Whitty keeps putting the phone down on me.

Are we still doing the half dose thing with the AZ vaccine? If we are, that will make it go further of course.

Not my fault.

Boris Johnson says government did everything it could to limit Covid deaths

PM says it is ‘hard to compute the sorrow’ after the UK passes more than 100,000 deaths
So why did he stop them?
As to the hard to compute sorrow, how many of his mates have made billions out of the pandemic, do they feel sorrow all the way to their offshore bank accounts?:D

Yes, but not mixing with the Pfizer.

Apparently we'll learn about the Johnson and Johnson vaccine next week, which is a single dose one. That would be the best to go ahead with, simplifying life for everyone.

N.B. Don't worry, Boris is not one of those two Johnsons.
