Thousands of Twitter and Facebook accounts exist which can be traced directly back to official organisations within China. They are used to spread and promote the sort of information above. The Chinese accounts also promote not wearing face coverings, anti-vaccine propaganda and Covid hoax theory. According to the most trustworthy news sources I can find (it also seems to be a common story across all news sources), China is obstructing the WHO’s investigation into the start of the Coronavirus outbreak. Why?

We also know what the Chinese is doing to Uighur Muslims and in Hong Kong.

I have made my feelings regarding China very clear on these pages, but the moderators removed my post.
What puzzles me is this
Why had the Americans invested megabucks with this very institute for research?
What were they doing, and why?

Lack of mention of UK in a piece like this would once have been unthinkable.

Trump has trashed America's most important alliance. The rift with Europe could take decades to repair

If it means the end of the "Special relationship"
That counts as the first Brexit Bonus to me, by making us less of a Nuclear Target

That the EU seems to be viewing defence somewhat differently might have looked very different were we inside the club.

If USA has withdrawn (to a considerable extent), and EU defence is possibly growing, that leaves us...

Indeed we know all this, but compared the the massive corruption of the Tory politicians regarding supply of school meals it was peanuts, but bound to be used to inflame right wing support
Agreed, that £30 food parcel is disgusting. It typifies the greed the current crop of Tories and their chums find it impossible to resist.

Note that the contract has not been removed from the company concerned. They have purchased the Conservative party and paid in full to be awarded such contracts, unquestioned.

The good news
It wasn't 150,000 police records that got deleted
The bad news
It was 400,000
The even worse news

If figures are to be believed govt are achieving over 2 million per week. (300k plus yesterday, 2.1 million plus per week)
At this rate they will hit target early.
There was a report (now removed, when I went back) that claimed we have enough vaccines for first 8 groups but Govt didn't want EU to know??? (like they don't already)
I agree with Dave, if this vaccine programme goes anything like well Boris will be seen as a hero..??
On the 23 care home residents front...
IMO these things are inevitable. Roughly 600,000 people die in UK every year, old frail people in care homes die every day. This has been way with covid all the time. Folk dying with it is completely different to of it. Vaccine is no different.
I do wonder at sense of giving vaccine to those receiving end of care life, which was case with a couple in mentioned Norway homes?? But, again, glad it ain't me making decision.
Also, it appears we may have a latent problem with BAME, Muslim and some Black groups. Seen reports 72% of mentioned groups will refuse vaccine. (France already experiencing issues on this front, they reckon at moment only 35% have faith in covid vaccine and only 40% would have it if offered today. Perhaps why they are watching what happens here??
Good news on vaccine front, however you look at it.
Patrick Valance made a telling, almost throw away, comment yesterday.
"it's fortunate we have any vaccine at all, in fact it's a miracle".
Surprised media didn't latch on.
So far we seem to have had quite a few miracles, to my knowledge only 1 vaccine fell by way side. They had used deactivated Hiv virus as carrier, volunteers tested positive for Hiv.. (but didn't have it?!) Can't remember which company /country it was.
So far we seem to be getting 90 % hit rate for vaccines? But not a one for Hiv???
Testament to modern science. How long could economies and society keep this up without an end game??? Vaccines won't be a silver bullet but will make a hell of a difference... eventually. Staying in bed til then..

Fat Arse has been asked to make a statement regarding the data loss. It’s as follows;

“It at the underpin’ workin’ towards actually tryin’ lookin’. Of course non when the U.K. goin’ makin’ and securin’ robust economy dedicatin’. What’s most alarmin’ the tirelessly workin’. Recoverin’ the data, which is not quite the most important for example in terms with the current situation. “

Clear?

Before you become too overjoyed
"This mechanism was available to all EU countries, but they opted for a more rigorous licensing procedure in which the companies, rather than taxpayers, accept liability if there are problems. "

We gambled on that and now on the 21 days to 12 weeks.
Sorry not altogether impressed

You won't change habits of a lifetime.
But to be fair" not altogether impressed " is an improvement. Be careful it's almost positive, but like vaccination programme a long way to go yet.. Keep trying...
And never said it wasn't available to EU states, you are answering your own doubts not my accusations. I didn't make any.

But perhaps time for us all to take stock and be objective rather than sticking to polical doctrine/dogma.
UK has vaccinated just under 5% of population and 350,000 people have had both shots. Impressive achievements by any standards. As was getting vaccine in first place. Glass half empty OG, well your arm...
