there is an interesting opinion piece on cnn about what happens next now that Trump has been impeached.

Is it too late to impeach Donald Trump? - CNNPolitics

or rather should Trump be convicted after his term has finished.

"To be sure, a former officer may no longer be 'removed' even upon conviction by a two-thirds vote. But that has no bearing on whether such an ex-officer may be barred permanently from office upon being convicted. That separate judgment would require no more than a simple majority vote.
"Concluding otherwise would all but erase the disqualification power from the Constitution's text: If an impeachable officer became immune from trial and conviction upon leaving office, any official seeing conviction as imminent could easily remove the prospect of disqualification simply by resigning moments before the Senate's anticipated verdict."

Trump only ever cared about two things, money and power, well he's had both but now only has one so that's where to go after him His financial backers are already looking at him as a bad bet and not worth the hassle of dealing with, he's given himself a poor credit rating.
Who the heck would do business with someone considered to be the worst American President there has ever been.
The fallout has already begun with Dominion makers of the US voting machines acting to sue that strange Sid Powell - woman ? for more than $1 Billion for spreading malicious nonsense about their equipment.
Hey Donald can you spare a Dime... :)

Today’s government COVID stats haven’t been published today due to “technical issues” I think counter can only display four digits.
Or they fell foul of this too?
Home secretary 'must take responsibility' for accidental wiping of 150,000 arrest records
The records were accidentally wiped last week and they included fingerprint, DNA and arrest histories, according to a report.

There's a lesson there, when wiping incriminating information it's best left to genuine hackers

Boris Johnson considers post-Brexit overhaul of workers' rights to free businesses from EU rules
48-hour working week under consideration in move that would likely spark fury from unions

And it won't upset just the unions, will it?
Is he trying to incite the public ?

Like that’s going to happen. When did Fat Arse take responsibility for anything except for the size of her fat arse? Fat Arse can’t even answer a straightforward question, she just serves up a string of random sequential words which when placed next to each other makes absolutely no sense.

I can’t think how this could possibly trigger any unrest. People voted to hurt themselves and workers hate unions. People asked for a good hard punch in the face. You only need to look at the Daily Fail reader’s comments to gauge the depth of anti-union feeling in the country. You are worrying over nothing. Besides, that Business Minister Mr Kawasaki Coathanger has denied it. Chill.

I wouldn't have employed her to wipe juke box singles at the back of a record shop. Just how wrong can I be?

Responsibility will at best be taken as pressing the button that delete them. Which she probably can deny. And not the extension to "why no backup?"

Wonder if Wikileaks has a copy?

Alistair Roberts(Clyde Fishermen's Association) - By the time the langoustine gets through all the red tape it's past its sell-by date & it's rejected. Boris Johnson hurried to sign this deal so he could rush off & watch the end of the Nativity play with Victoria Prentis.

Trump 'refusing to pay' Rudy Giuliani's legal fees after falling out

Also
Commenting on the report, Ken Frydman, who worked as Giuliani’s press secretary in the 1990s, said: “Lay down with dogs. Wake up with fleas and without $20,000 a day”.

Sorry if its already been posted and I didn't see it.

This in the Independent

It comes as a document from Boris Johnson’s government revealed emergency measures planned at UK ports to prevent food shortages. Up to 300 empty lorries a day could be fast-tracked “to expedite” their the return to the EU, where they can be restocked with supplies.

Naturally the Hauliers won't mind paying for this empty run and sea cruise at their expense.

This is a non story, in my book they should have been wiped and should never have been held in the first instance.

Arrests are on suspicion of committing an offence and it now transpires that these wiped records were of arrests that were not followed by any action, in other words no acceptable evidence of an offence.

Keeping records to infer offences for which there's no evidence is the stuff of police states and there's been far too much of this kind of thing going on since the 1980s.
