I'm glad to see an idea I had about 6 months ago is now slowly starting to gain momentum. It was obvious from way back that any new vaccine to combat covid would be treated with scepticism re safety, so I put forward the view that prominent members of society should be shown receiving the jab to encourage the public in general to step up.
HM the Queen & Prince Phillip to start well loved and respected throughout the country and of course very elderly to boot.
The Prime Minister & all of his cabinet plus of course Whitty, Vallance and Van Tam, no one in their right mind would accept being vaccinated if the very people promoting it's use were seen to shy away.
Let's not have another Tony Blair scenario, "your children must have a MMR vaccine but I'm not telling you if mine have"...well of course you won't would. Roll your sleeve up Ma'am... photo or it didn't happen bear in mind.

Well in the interest of fairness , I must ..There are plenty of naysayer regarding Brexit, and is one tangible case where they have had flexibility. Let us sincerely hope it is not a new Thalidomide.
Fortunately we have our own opportunities to farm fish salmon here.

Taking the very narrow viewpoint, it shouldn't be a second thalidomide provided the documented restrictions and requirements are properly followed.

of childbearing age should be advised to avoid pregnancy for at least 2 months after their second dose.

Amazing what this government will do in order to provide a bit of a smokescreen for Brexit, latest stance is to absolve the vaccine manufacturers from any liability.

This has been discussed in some parts of the web from the earliest days of Covid-19 vaccine being a twinkle in our eyes.

Not quite so simple as a blanket immunity to all vaccine makers.

The new travel rules for Wales (see 1.22pm) have been criticised by the Conservatives, who claim they will mean people will head across the border for a drink in England after Welsh pubs are banned from serving alcohol on Friday evening.

The same tories who, in the person of Johnson, point blank refused to do anything to prevent people from the highest infection level areas of England from visiting Wales, drinking, etc. Even when other people who live in Wales were prohibited from doing so.

Well they originally tubed cities with gas not for cooking ..they were happy enough with wood and coal fired ranges , but just for house lighting. Now if you take a country like the UK, the gas pipe infrastructure is already there in every town, but the supplies of natural gas is dwindling as the North Sea fields hit end of life, and Russia becomes less reliable.
For myself, I like redundancy, so we use Bottled gas for a hob, electric oven and kettle ..with the hob being the backup, a heat pump for the main central heating, with an oil burner as backup, and thermal solar . The weak point is that both the oil burner and the solar need small amounts of electricity.

My house has a heat pump which runs off a single AA battery. It lowers the temperature of Lake Geneva by just 0.1 deg C. This gives me more heat than I can use, so I give the surplus to poor people and Black Lives Matter groups. I feel very superior because I’m such a benevolent gentleman.
