I’m watching with amusement as the Labour civil war begins. I think Starmer is the best thing that has happened to the party for a long time. We are starting to see the formation of a possibly alternative to the Conservatives. Of course, the Corby supporters are doing their best to derail the progress.

Hopefully this will result in a split where the hard left break away and form another party. They can then rant and spew their poison to a handful of followers and we can be safe in the knowledge that they’ll never have any power or influence.

Indeed. I've been reading 'Dangerous Hero' by Tom Bower all about Corbyn. We seriously dodged a bullet there - he would have been an unmitigated disaster for this country had he become PM.

Oh dear, those terrified refugees fleeing war torn quarters of the world and passing through one safe country, and then another, and then another one, then one safe country after that, then a couple more, then getting into a dinghy and heading for the U.K.

Then start kicking off because there isn’t as much free stuff as they thought there would be.

They really look happy to be out of danger back in their home country.

So pretty much the same outcome as what did happen.
Not really. Johnson is a liar, a coward, lacks judgement, is allergic to decision making and is an incompetent buffoon. Corbyn is simply an enemy of ordinary working British people. That’s far worse.

At the risk of being utter insensitive and crass.. the hundreds arriving, just about make up for the five hundred dieing of CV19. Really clever lateral thinking by the Tory Government , by ensuring space for the newbies by wiping out an equivalent number of the well established.

The best outcome would be both main parties splitting since they are both in the same position of being two different incompatible factions. Then we could at last arrive at the sensible position of true coalition government, rather than the sham attempt at it we briefly had.

Yes, a guy with BLACK LIVES MATTER in capitals in his Twitter name is a Trump supporter and wasn't in any way associated with BLM. Really! Type in "Ned BLACK LIVES MATTER Staebler " into Twitter search and you will find him plus his video of intimidation.
I don't use twitter or Facebook . However I suspect it would not be difficult for me to create a "handle" for myself with "vfr400 groupie " included in it.
The admitted facts is that.
1. Lindsay Graham a senior senator was ringing around and using the power of his position to question senior civil servants in States that he does not represent about electoral practices and allegedly to request suppression of postal votes. That is intimidation. There are witnesses .
2. The President had as guests in the WH yesterday , the States certifiers in fringe states, to ? encourage them? To do the right thing by him. That is intimidation or cohersion
3. The President rang up and conversed with the chair of the republican party encouraged her to rescind her vote in Wade county. To a lowly party member ,such a request would appear as a burning bush to a Moses .is that not intimidation and undue influence?.

Two different subjects with no sensible link.

So, Boris Johnson’s independent advisor on The Ministerial Code has concluded that Fat-Arse Patel is a bully. Boris Johnson has responded by saying Fat-Arse Patel has not broken The Ministerial Code and any bullying was inadvertent, let’s move on. Boris Johnson’s Independent Advisor says bullying did take place and he now has no option but to resign.

I believe Fat-Arse was fired a couple of years ago when she broke the ministerial code after arranging a secret meeting with a foreign power.

Boris Johnson is so seriously compromised as a result of his own lying, he is utterly powerless to act. Everyone around him is totally bullet proof.

Rotten to the core doesn’t come close.

Priti off the hook? Anyone surprised?

Although ministers are usually expected to resign if they breach the code, the prime minister is expected to point to a finding that her conduct was “unintentional”.
The "I didn't mean to" excuse.

The people supporting her appear to (mostly) be those she would not have been in a position to bully. Hancock and other senior figures. Even the rest of the parliamentary tory party. The ones she would wish to impress and suck up to.

The underlings who were bullied (which appears to be agreed - otherwise why the "unintentional"?) might have a very different view. Indeed, if they didn't, there would have been no complaint in the first place.

Since when was lack of intent any basis for allowing bullying? The intro to the ministerial code includes:

There must be no bullying and no harassment; no leaking; no breach of collective responsibility.

NOT
There must be no intentional bullying and no intentional harassment; no leaking; no breach of collective responsibility.

Adviser on ministerial code has just resigned.

Home Office insider Lorraine Fisher, 34, speaking while cowering in a cupboard, whispered: “She’ll pull my hair again if she gets wind of me talking to you.

“But really, she is lovely and it’s just her way of dealing with difficult people.”

Speaking to reporters ahead of an expected announcement from the Prime Minister, Ms Patel snarled: “I am not a bully. If I hear any of you suggesting otherwise, I will give you a Chinese burn.”

They've all signed up to The Great Reset, so you will get the same whatever party is voted in. The agenda for The Great Reset is controlled by unelected people. Democracy in this country is only an illusion.

Just run this Great Reset past me please. Don’t post links, I can’t be arsed to read them. Just give me 1) What is being reset 2) How it will be accomplished 3) Who benefits. Cheers.

There is no great reset in the conspiracy sense as VFR400 believes, yet he is right in all the elements that comprise it.

For a long time we've all been heading towards a number of inevitabilities:

1) That we will eventually have to deal with the climate change problem.

2) That we will eventually have to deal with the related overpopulation problem.

3) That to deal with these means we will all have to accept some unpleasant changes.

4) That the interconnected world we've created has given enormous power to multi-national commerce.

5) That this world spanning power means large commerce has disproportionate influence on political policies and the ways they deal with the above.

All of which means future changes which will reset the way we live our lives, and those changes will often not result from the expression of our democratic will.

The arrival of the pandemic Covid-19 and how it takes control away from us has focussed minds worldwide on all this with a recognition that we can't forever defer these issues. We need to deal with them but as said, they will be dealt with by us being told what we must accept, effectively by those who really hold the reins.

The conspiracy theorists hold that all this has been planned by a cabal of the powerful. I disagree, believing that it has resulted from a set of inevitabilities, as much due to our own faults as anything else and now being exploited opportunistically by those who can.
