Perhaps your experience was similar to mine. A large number of people are refraining from attending hospitals for the very legitimate fear of contracting CV19. The number of people attending their doctors has also decreased for both reasons .. doctors reluctant to ask them to call, and patients fearful. There are other reasons as well. I suspect the incidence of workplace accidents, road accidents, common colds etc are all reduced. ..Less people at work, less traffic, more social distancing . Despite any statements to the contrary, and numbers of well published cases, people are not lemmings and have adjusted their behaviour. What I witnessed was an empty hospital. 4 years ago, I was in the same ward. A manager came round every day to see who they could kick out to make room for somebody else. This time in July, there were only two patients in the ward with 8 beds for most of the time I was there.
The problem of not going to doctors or dentists is that the underlying causes do not go away.
My A&E visit in mid September, was to an almost empty place .. extremely busy usually ,but clients voted with their feet.
