Since then Nissan have jumped the sinking EU ship
Now we have left the EU, Nissan have made it clear they are prepared to jump the entire Europe and UK ship in the way that General Motors and Honda have already done and Toyota will do within three years.

"Having built a significant battery business in recent years, industry sources say that Tesla is now preparing to enter the British market with its technology. "
This is almost certainly a non starter here in the UK. It's not about being a generator in the conventional sense. it's about his powerwall storage extended into buildings with large banks of lithium batteries used to smooth out the peaks and troughs of demand, this lessening the need for additional power stations.

Two snags with that, one being of course the high costs of those batteries and their limited lives.

The other being that here in Europe and now in the UK as well, we have chosen a different more economic route to the same end. That is using e-cars to perform the same function, benefitting the state and the car users at the same time. Our cars of course spend most of their lives out of use so can perform the two way function for the state, while it also provides the car owners with substantial savings on their electricity bills. They buy their e-car electricity at off peak charge times but sell it back to the state at peak high cost times, the difference credited to their electricity account.

The e-car charge systems provide for this, the Chademo system on my Nissan Leaf for example being two way, and some EU countries already have long had this this up and running, most notably Denmark. The first trial scheme is currently starting in Britain now., hence our bringing foward by five years the deadline on being able to buy ic fuel cars and incentives to buy e-cars. Cheaper and easier than additional nuclear power stations to cover the gaps in renewable supplies.

So I'm afraid Elon Musk is going to be disappointed.

You `could` be right, but that was back in Nov. 2019
Since then Nissan have jumped the sinking EU ship and Renault are ready to go down the tubes.

Musk has more of an interest in the UK, here->

Tesla's potential foray into Britain may also be in connection with the company's energy supply ambitions.

In early May, Tesla submitted a document to the relevant authorities in order to become an energy supplier in the UK,

In its application to the UK’s Gas and Electricity Markets Authority, Tesla requested for a license that would allow it to generate electricity to supply “any premises” in Great Britain.

Elon Musk previously stated that Tesla Energy could be as large or even larger than the car sector of the company.

The Telegraph reports: "In a move that analysts predict could shake up the country’s power landscape, the electric car company has
applied to the UK’s energy regulator for a licence to generate electricity.

"The application does not make clear why Tesla has applied for the licence.

"Having built a significant battery business in recent years, industry sources say that Tesla is now preparing to enter the British market with its technology. "
The trade deal between the EU and Japan made manufacture in Europe an unnecessary expense, everbody knows that, it has nothing to do with ships sinking.
Tesla battery technology is already out of date.

My favourite racist story comes from a surveyor friend from Cameroon living here. Russian builders under him were grumbling to each other (they thought secretly) about having a black boss ... he told them off quite severely in Russian. They got on really well after that,

His fluent English is his fourth language after Ewondo, French and Russian (he trained there).

And that’s the issue, mostly it doesn’t exists, it’s got into the protesters heads via Facebook and other shite media outlets.
Utter nonsense, how do I see it so clearly then when I never visit any social media ever?

Of course a minority of black people take advantage with false accusations of racism, just as some in disadvantaged white society make accusations of bias against the police. In both cases it's retaliation against what they do suffer at other times.

In all your three persona in this forum you've shown insensitivity in numerous social issues. At first I thought it was just an amusing character you had adopted for online use, but now it seems apparent that you really are so insensitive that you cannot perceive the scale of hurt caused by the very real, ever present underlying racism in our society.

I think it would be fairer to say that I view the extent of it in similar way to that of mencal elf. Where it genuinely exists, it’s serious and needs addressing, but it’s not as widespread as it’s being suggested. It’s all become a contagion and people are seeing racism where it doesn’t exist. It’s a very similar mechanism to mass fainting by groups of children.

Good point, they are somewhat unaware of their own traits.
You'll just have to house train them to be good members of the EU
I think you should cut Tommie some slack. He's obviously under some stress just now due to the upcoming marching season being restricted due to the pandemic.
This is likely to be a real downer on someone who spends as much time as he does polishing his flute.

Do the additional charge / discharge cycles created by what you suggest shorten the car’s battery life? That could off set any income generated by selling the charge back to the grid.

marches are usually hijacked by people who look out for a fight with the police and with each other.
If you were the police, what would you do if you or your horse gets attacked by stone throwers?

Like on here, I reckon VFR400 is going to contradict me in a minute.

Not significantly, according to this study.

Study claims Tesla batteries lose just 1% performance each year https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-7764529/US-study-claims-Tesla-batteries-lose-just-1-performance-year.html?ito=native_share_article-masthead

Tesla, unlike Nissan:eek:, uses active thermal management during charging and this is known to reduce battery degradation over time.
All my power tools are now rechargeable and even my Makita charger has a system to blow air through the battery pack during charging.
The batteries fitted to EVs have proven to be far more robust and long lasting than initially thought and the AutoExpress, Clarkson, Daily Mail stuff about having to replace them every 2 or 3 years has been shown to be utter nonsense.

Apparently not, the lives of the oldest car ones have been surprising many, including the makers. Don't forget many commute and charge daily with their e-cars so they have numerous cycles already.

The secret is that their cells are low density and most are rarely emptied and never used continuously at full output. So they suffer far less stress than the often emptied high density cells used in our e-bikes and torches. The e-car battery usage has much in common with the lithium battery one in satellites where they exceed ten years life and approaching 4000 charges.

Agreed but that is not a race issue, it's as true of white British ones and long has been.
.
we have two issues:
1. landlords giving preferential treatment based on skin tone or hair style.
2. campaigners for positive discrimination using unemployment whose origin may well be a small difference in academic achievement at GCSEs.

Quite some achievement when you look at the competition.

Boris Johnson is least popular leader in the WORLD according to poll
A NEW poll revealed today that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has the lowest approval rating worldwide based on his response to the coronavirus pandemic.
https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1293211/Boris-Johnson-news-latest-poll-coronavirus-leader-lockdown-end
Well now I think congratulations are due, he has finally set a standard for the rest of the world leaders to shall we say
Avoid like shaking hands with Coronavirus victims to show off?
And this in the EXPRESS????

After what Boris did to them I'm surprised he hasn't taken up the violin
