Did I hear that right 20 mile queue for IKEA ? I think there's one about twenty miles from me so in theory I could step outside and join the queue right now....that's convenient.
In my book, people are bonkers. I'd be ill if I had to stand out in this sun for four hours as reported from several branches.Did I hear that right 20 mile queue for IKEA ? I think there's one about twenty miles from me so in theory I could step outside and join the queue right now....that's convenient.
When you are half way there and ten miles from home and need a convenience it may be very inconvenient.Did I hear that right 20 mile queue for IKEA ? I think there's one about twenty miles from me so in theory I could step outside and join the queue right now....that's convenient.
It might have been easier to set up a machine gun post and invite anyone intent on criminal activity to go home. We've had Boris and the hiding in fridge allegations. Now I hear Trump has been christened Bunker Boy after his security men hustled him into the White House bunker due the danger from the current mass demonstrations over George Floyd's untimely death.

The poor performance of bygone generations is no reason for us not to expect better from our present government, rather than to surrender.Nice to see you say was, about time this non event was dropped.
Cummings was just being consistent, there's been no integrity whatsoever in our politics for just over forty years now, but the people have consistently voted their approval for the guilty throughout all that time.
So it's rather too late for them to complain of this one minor example when they've been the cause.

The people in that queue are the same people Boris Johnson asked to take a common sense approach to the lockdown easements. It’s not going to work. People have gone from Level 4 straight to Level 1. Next they will be moaning because granny is in an iron lung.Did I hear that right 20 mile queue for IKEA ? I think there's one about twenty miles from me so in theory I could step outside and join the queue right now....that's convenient.
What would really concern me was carrying back home a table, four chairs and a wall unitWhen you are half way there and ten miles from home and need a convenience it may be very inconvenient.
It's not bygone generations, far from it. It's today's people who voted approval for the present bunch, despite all the evidence of their duplicity, dishonesty and previous poor performances. It seems those are standards this public approve of.The poor performance of bygone generations is no reason for us not to expect better from our present government, rather than to surrender.
I only went to an IKEA once and never will again under any circumstances. I don't tolerate any company which treats its customers with arrogance as IKEA do every customer without fail.Did I hear that right 20 mile queue for IKEA ? I think there's one about twenty miles from me so in theory I could step outside and join the queue right now....that's convenient.
Possibly true, although that should already be impossible.Strange thing is I'd bet if there were elections in the UK & USA tomorrow Boris and Trump would still get back in.
What did Trump say recently "I'm the President, I can do anything I want ..I don't have to ask Congress"Possibly true, although that should already be imposssible.

I still say he'll go , but later rather than sooner when BJ finds another nutcase. When people suggest Dominic Cummings "only" looked after his family, remember there are still other outstanding issues:
Government fails to distance Dominic Cummings from sex discrimination case
Boris Johnson aide could be personally liable in tribunal case brought by sacked adviser
Government lawyers have tried and failed to remove the name of Dominic Cummings from a sex discrimination claim being pursued by Sajid Javid’s former special adviser, the Guardian can disclose.
The demand was rejected after barristers for Sonia Khan, the former chancellor’s media adviser who was marched by armed police from Downing Street, successfully argued that the behaviour of Boris Johnson’s chief aide was pivotal to the case.
The disclosure will be seen as an attempt by the government to protect Cummings from further controversy. He is facing demands for his resignation after the Guardian revealed that he had driven hundreds of miles across the UK during the coronavirus outbreak.
It also means that Cummings could be made personally liable for part of any damages award.
Khan was Javid’s media adviser at the time she was escorted from No 10 after Cummings accused her of misleading him over her contact with individuals close to the former chancellor Philip Hammond. She denied any inappropriate contact. Javid was furious to learn about her dismissal after the event.

Well you did say no integrity for the past forty years, that covers bygone generations. It's not bygone generations, far from it. It's today's people who voted approval for the present bunch, despite all the evidence of their duplicity, dishonesty and previous poor performances. It seems those are standards this public approve of.
So they've got the government they deserved and wanted.

Not at my age, it's yesterday!Well you did say no integrity for the past forty years, that covers bygone generations.
Thatcher should have resigned, it was her decision to scrap HMS Endurance that sent the wrong message to the Argies and sealed the islander's fate. Not at my age, it's yesterday!
I'm going much further back to see integrity in politics,
The only true example I know of in the last forty years was Peter, the Lord Carrington who was once a member of Churchill's cabinet.
Despite no-one even mentioning him in that context, as Foreign Secretary in Thatcher's government at the time he took full responsibility for the Falklands War and resigned, taking the blame for the failure of his department to see the possibility of an Argentinian invasion.
Clearly a man of honour of a kind not seen in politics today.
