i like a joke, but this is in bad taste coming from China. It was those dirty little slit eyed, frying pan faced lying yellow ***** who started it. It would be more useful for them to save the jokes, start telling the truth and share more facts about what actually took place. *****.
Unfortunately for you the slit eyed people are telling the truth. Moreover they only released this after a sequence of lies and innuendo from Pres. Trump . How do I know they are telling the truth?. Look to US CDC websites, look at the video record of statements. The original transcripts and utterances are available.
The only bit not tied down is the original locus of infection. Certainly the first public and published cases were in Wuhan in mid November. However there was a major sports contest there about 2 weeks earlier with military athletes from 100 countries. ..10,000 of them. Even little old Ireland sent 23 ,and bigger countries sent 20 times that number. Many of these athletes would have served as security details in Government labs ,on every continent. Current concensus is that the virus was a spontaneous natural evolution, ..but accidental release from any of these 100 countries is not impossible.

However "The genomic sequence of the virus, eventually named SARS-CoV-2, was 96 percent identical to that of a coronavirus the researchers had identified in horseshoe bats in Yunnan China."

The army games is what a Chinese govt official (Zhao Lijian, a spokesperson from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs) used as an excuse to point the finger at the US despite lack of an evidence. This in turn led to Trump calling it the 'Chinese Virus' and some back & forth.

Then Liu Xiaoming Chinese Ambassador to the UK chimed in a couple of days ago denying China was the source and put the blame on the French...

The statement on 12th March by the Chinese official, was a RESPONSE to earlier comments by US senator Tom Cotton in late February on FOX who speculated that as Wuhan had a high grade biological sciences labs, it could have been the source. On 25 February, a senior Chinese Scientist made the obvious statement that while it first presented in Wuhan,it may not have originated there. Earlier in February 10th the WHO had decided to use a CV19 designator ,so as to stop a blame game. Pres. Trump when got in on the act and from 17th. March was referring to the Chinese virus. ..And is now recycling that narrative
This sequence demonstrates that it was actually USA people who first started the blame game . But the military games had plenty of other nations present, the majority with bio competence

So are you saying US / other world player got hold of a Chinese bat virus, weaponised it and let it loose back in China

What would that benefit anyone? apart from consortium of nefarious bog-roll manufacturers & bio-firms looking to drum up business ;-)

IMHO At worst it was possibly a Chinese lab strain that got loose - cock-up rather than conspiracy...

If that question was directed at me. The answer is no. No need for any conspiracy theory. Since this virus shares characteristics with the earlier SARs (details of which are beyond my knowledge), it would not be unlikely that the earlier SARs virus strain is being examined in multiple laboratories. One of the problems in this level of biology is getting pure strains ,to ensure reproducibility in results..a constant problem in biology. Unless different laboratories can replicate results, there is no validity. Nature magazine had a series of articles on that topic,of biological results credibility a few years back.
My point simply has been that there were 100,000 potential carriers in the city of Wuhan 3 weeks before the infection was noticed. A fraction of these people would typically be on guard duty normally at sensitive national installations,in any off 100 countries. Any one might be a carrier via their partner ,a lab technician

Going down that CT rabbit hole - the ex-US army republican senator was just repeating speculation from Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist, Fox News, and Guo Wengui - well-connected critics of the Chinese government.
... Yes but the DATE is significant. There is nothing better than getting ones retaliation in early.

Keeps amazing me how good some products were - even if they had lots of H&S issues. How did they come up with such a glaze in the first place?

Quite a lot of older baths (probably a small percentage but still quite a number) have been refurbed. Typically this seems to consist of sanding down followed by applying an epoxy layer. I was well aware that any dust needs a mask but not that it might contain lead an antimony. (I never did it myself - we replaced our bath which was a more recent one with an unplasantly etched surface.)
There were usually at least five layers in the glaze on the baths, I know this from having done the job after training in my youth, the process was as follows
The bath was shot blasted first to matt the cast iron surface and obviously inspected for faults
The actual glazing process was a manually intensive one as follows
The bath was placed into an electric induction over and heated till red hot.(this was repeated between coats of glaze and checked by observation of the colour through an inspection port in the oven door
When the correct colour was attained the door rose and using a long hydraulically powered fork hung from an over head rail the operator would clamp the bath and draw it out for glazing.
The fork could be rocked to tip the bath in the range of angles needed to allow the operator to "sand" the bath interior with powdered Frit from what can best be described as a long handled copperpot, he reached over the bath and shook the frit through the sieve in the bottom, all over the interior of the bath as evenly as he could'
It was a highly skilled operation as the frit burst into flames sparks and smoke as it hit the bath, but with practice (and once you became innured to the extreme heat from the bath as you only wore light trousers and white jackets to reflect the heat a good result without orange peel or holes could be attained.
There were usually five layers to apply, with the bath returned to the oven between each coat
  1. A layer of Red Primer
  2. First levelling layer (Brown)
  3. Main colour base layer coarse
  4. Main colour base layer fine
  5. Final glaze layer
Baths that had pinholes, thin glaze or orange peel were taken outside, picked up ten at a time with the magnetic crane and repeatedly dropped to smash them and be recycled in the cupola
I was fortunate to be able to move to another job before I shrivelled to a crisp or drowned internally from the huge quantities of water (and after work Beer) that we consumed.
Not a job is you wished to live to attain great age, and no one did.

Excuse me, have I read this correctly? Are you saying there was a Government Laboratory Military Guard’s “Olympic Games” type of event Involving 10000 such Government Laboratory Military Guards in Wuhan approximately 14 days before the outbreak? Forgive me for suggesting that is the biggest load of bollicks posted on here in recent times.

Even if some of the athletes had been engaged in such duties, the number attending would be around 0.

Back to brexit...

No-deal Brexit could wreck UK’s chance of leading Covid-19 global research

Nobel scientists warn Britain will lose ‘superpower’ status if access barred to €100bn EU fund
Well look at it this way if you don't mind killing people it would be a waste of money doing research wouldn't it?

The 2019 Military World Games, officially known as the 7th CISM Military World Games and commonly known as Wuhan 2019, was held from October 18–27, 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei, China.[2][3]

The 7th Military World Games was the first international military multi-sport event to be held in China and also it was the largest military sports event ever to be held in China, with nearly 10,000 athletes from over 100 countries competing in 27 sports.[4][5] The multi-sport event included 25 official and 2 demonstrative sports. Six sport disciplines such as badminton, tennis, table tennis, women's boxing and men's gymnastics made their debuts in the event.[6]

That's an interesting read OG I don't think us southerners know what hard work is, yet we were always happy enough to reap the dividends of the industrial north.

No. What I said, and can be verified independently is that Wuhan hosted a military type Olympic games, restricted to members of different countries armed forces. The sports included all the standard stuff like boxing judo ,athletics, basketball, and more military activities .. marksmanship, parachuting gymnastics etc. The dates are consistent with the outbreak.
A 110 different countries, and 9000+ competitors took part including contingents from the USA of 172 athletes and of course coaches . It was a very big deal for Wuhan. Curiously the UK was one of the few major countries which did not participate. Even Ireland had a small group of 32.
Now these are serving soldiers. Where would you put your prize athletes? Say your middle weight boxers? Maybe someone you were hoping for Olympic Gold or Army Navy competition ?
A reasonable role is guard duty. What do they guard?. Post offices?, Embassies? Military installations and research establishment?
Your ignorance is matched only by your arrogance, so I will add this one to your list of apologies expected.

I predicted that test numbers would peak then fall...

Gove speaks very fast but he just admitted the government produced 76,496 tests yesterday, you don't need to be Einstein to know this is below the 100,000 target
