"The Justice Department has quietly asked Congress for the ability to ask
chief judges to detain people indefinitely without trial during emergencies
— part of a push for new powers that comes as the coronavirus spreads
through the United States.
Documents reviewed by POLITICO detail the department’s requests to
lawmakers on a host of topics, including the statute of limitations, asylum
and the way court hearings are conducted. POLITICO also reviewed and
previously reported on documents seeking the authority to extend
deadlines on merger reviews and prosecutions..."
One of the requests to Congress would allow the department to petition a judge to indefinitely detain someone during an emergency.

Trump feigning ignorance badly when asked yesterday if his hotels would be recieving govt help.
“I don’t know. I mean, I just don’t know what the government assistance
would be for what I have,” Trump said at a White House briefing. “I have
hotels. Everybody knew I had hotels when I got elected. They knew I was
a successful person when I got elected so it’s one of those things.”
Trump said he had not asked anyone at the Trump Organization
specifically how the coronavirus has impacted its business. He said he
has spoken to his sons, Don and Eric, about the coronavirus, “but not as
it pertains to my business.”
