13 Italian doctors died already. I really feel for the hospital staff.
We work remotely from Monday, only come in the office when called in and only for a short period.
I'm doing some locum work and as per nhs regulation am only allowed 7 days quarantine (as the first person to be infected in the household - my wife will be off 14 days to cover a possible incubation period) and so will be back monday, which is a worry since I have an inexplicable intermittent cough when I exert myself (I told my employer about). I'm not a wildly altruistic person and am as concerned about the cough becoming something more than infecting others. A lot about covid 19 is so unknown

There is of course the point that we can't go round the shops trying to get face masks , simply because it isn't safe to do so and you would be risking someone else asking them to do it for you!
And I have no idea who stocks them in this city, assuming someone does.
In fact I tried two chemists and drew a blank. I too haven't a clue where to get one, why on earth did Woollies shut down long ago?

Heaven knows where kids practice theft nowadays.

While we're all grounded for an undetermined period, may I recommend this series of videos and virtually ride pillion with a jolly young Dutch geologist 'Itchy Boots on her Royal Enfield adventures around the world (stops in Peru where she's now got locked down)

Now as you know I live in a village, and the amount of voluntary compliance has been staggeringly good.
Voluntary compliance around here has been good as well, drove through the main street of our nearest town last night, all pubs seemed to be closed, only premises i saw open were four Chinese takeaways!
Disappointing that Irish horseracing and their clique seem to be a law unto themselves, a meeting just up the road from you there in Dundalk today - highly irresponsible, as were those shower of tossers returning from Cheltenham, walked into the country never checked.

Earlier this afternoon, I saw a crowd of old duffers standing with their cases. I presume they were waiting to be picked up by a coach to go on holiday. I know, unbelievable isn’t it.

The message from the government is very confused. We have Johno telling us not to go to the pub, but he won’t close the pubs. He tells us not to socialise, and then his dad says he’s going down the boozer. He tells us not to go to restaurants, and then Weatherspoon was in the media this morning saying he is keeping all his pub-restaurants open. Downing Street then refuse to criticise Wetherspoon for acting irresponsibly. Get a ******* grip and start shutting these places down. Whilst ever these places stay open, people will go because they are twats. He has to realise that the average person is a complete **** and needs to be made to do things.
I fully agree with you!. We in Ireland had been advised by 9th March, to reduce contacts and things were going well, until Friday 13th.. basically the start of the Patrick's Day weekend ,when large numbers started going to a few of the Monster pubs in Dublin. Now, by this stage, Sporting fixtures were being cancelled , small shops and coffee shops were cordoning off every second table .. Anyway the Politicians lambasted them the next morning and shamed those pubs into shutting. There are very few if any restaurants open anywhere now, and if they were, there would be no-one at them.

if you don't have a fever (most frequently observed symptom), you are OK.

Our thoughts are with you in this, naturally we hope the cough is not something serious and you recover.

Fully agree.
My daughter is on a late shift at Portadown ,and I travel to Newry Station to collect her . She is often the only person on the train. There is no road traffic to and in Newry.
My understanding is that the racing took place, but no punters admitted. So the only people present were the jockeys, trainers , officials
Cheltenham made me angry. . I was hoping, against hope that the State would have driven them all into Butlins Mosney for a fortnight quarantine. As I wrote previously, Simon Coveney ,who is invariably urbane and diplomatic ,nearly lost it when on Primetime he was asked about Cheltenham ,there was a visible pause before he said .. well it would not have gone on here. He was obviously debating with himself whether to let his frustration out.

..careful Woosh, his age , general fitness etc all matter. The entire spectrum from little symptoms to serious breathing difficulty are all present.
In another place, someone has posted some information about their symptoms:

We have only had a slightly raised temperature and relatively minor coughing so didn’t fit the isolation criteria. However, shortness of breath kicked in after a few days. I found the following article informative:

Under those mythical "normal" circumstances, I'd have suggested Screwfix or Toolstation.

Huang et al (24 january 2020)ublished a study on patients with covid 19 that presented in a&e's in china) that describe typical symptoms (good reading, better description of possible risk factors than some conjecture in media - most had fever but 2% didnt have fever at all and I think about 12% not significant rise in body temperature)
