I didn't think of bread.
Thanks for reminding me. I enjoy making my own bread so no big loss.

The amount of RNA they themselves are producing dwarfs it.
13 Italian doctors died already. I really feel for the hospital staff.
We work remotely from Monday, only come in the office when called in and only for a short period.

In the Far East, China Singapore etc, every man woman and child you see is wearing a mask, how many do you see here? This along with a curfew should be brought in immediately imho.
However there`s a strange and dangerous culture mostly in the younger generation that absolutely nothing can be allowed to change their ability to do whatever the eff they like, and herein lies a big problem.

They were wearing them in Saigon 10 years ago!.. . I think curfew would be counter productive.. why would you not get up on your bike and do a few rounds of the Lagan Valley at 2:00 am... Now as you know I live in a village, and the amount of voluntary compliance has been staggeringly good.

I've remarked on this too Tommie. Still I have yet to see anyone at all wearing a face mask of any sort, and all my recent movements are in South London and North Surrey.

I can't see that the public are making any effort, outside of stockpiling supplies.

I'm sure they're wonderful - There's just not enough for everybody, even healthcare workers don't have enough. Disposable ones are used for 4 hours before they need replacing.

In Asia they were already popular due to the air pollution there, and even they ran short in the outbreak region in a short space of time.

Mentioned previously I saw far eastern asian students from Essex Uni noticably wearing masks while out & about in town - less I believe for 'infection control' reasons but more to protect themselves from racially inspired confrontations. Funnily enough I had my motorcycle snood on...

As I see it, they should request the emergency powers and then do what they need to do. Up to and including confiscation and gaol for offenders. Though, more often, I would expect them to impose a price and ensure that the company doesn't just put everything back into the stockroom until they can try again. Yesterday, I saw JHOOTS pharmacy claiming that their massive price rises were due to their costs. Funny how they lowered them again when publicity focussed on them. Whatever, don't wait to request powers.

New UK taskforce to crack down on coronavirus profiteers

CMA to act against traders raising prices on goods such as hand sanitiser and toilet roll

“But if they do not, our taskforce is monitoring market developments to enable us to intervene as quickly as possible. We have a range of options at our disposal, from warnings to enforcement action to seeking emergency powers. We hope that such action will not be necessary but we will do whatever is required to stop a small minority of businesses that may seek to exploit the present situation.”

Northwick Park Hospital in northwest London has confirmed it has reached “critical care capacity” as the number of patients with COVID-19 increases in the capital. The hospital has said it does not have the required space for those needing critical care. The London hospital is working with a number of trusts in the capital to transfer those who require medical assistance at this time of national crisis.

Earlier this afternoon, I saw a crowd of old duffers standing with their cases. I presume they were waiting to be picked up by a coach to go on holiday. I know, unbelievable isn’t it.

The message from the government is very confused. We have Johno telling us not to go to the pub, but he won’t close the pubs. He tells us not to socialise, and then his dad says he’s going down the boozer. He tells us not to go to restaurants, and then Weatherspoon was in the media this morning saying he is keeping all his pub-restaurants open. Downing Street then refuse to criticise Wetherspoon for acting irresponsibly. Get a ******* grip and start shutting these places down. Whilst ever these places stay open, people will go because they are twats. He has to realise that the average person is a complete **** and needs to be made to do things.

Latest is that he is compulsorily closing pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafes and many other meeting places.

His dad will be giving it to him!

How about people without symptoms but tested having sufficient level of their own antibodies may be allowed to wear a badge: 'I passed the Corvid19 test' and allowed to return to normal life?
Big opportunity for sales of dodgy badges!

I wonder if should get pally with my MP :D

Within the Houses of Parliament there are 19 restaurants and cafeterias, nine bars and one coffee bar which must cater for the hundreds of MPs and peers and all the permanent staff, security, other pass-holders and guests.

Is that known technically as being a "Party pooper"?

I think a number of those will be closed. BJ has already issued an appeal to MPs not to attend parliament unless the matter in hand in the House is something they are personally concerned with.

So it's likely there will be far too few customers to sustain all those facilities.

There is of course the point that we can't go round the shops trying to get face masks , simply because it isn't safe to do so and you would be risking someone else asking them to do it for you!
And I have no idea who stocks them in this city, assuming someone does.
